Joseph E. Seifert...
Joseph E. Seifert, age 86, of Mansfield, OH, currently a resident of Bowie, TX passed away June 29, 2004.
Mr. Seifert, a WWII veteran, served in the Navy and was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW and the 40 & 8. While a resident of Mansfield, he was employed by the Richland County Engineers Department.
A private family memorial service was held at the First Baptist Church in Montague, TX under the direction of White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
Beloved father and husband, he is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Korak Seifert. Survivors include daughters Carol Flood and her husband, Roger of Weslaco, TX, Judi Williams and her husband, Doyle, Bowie, TX; grandchildren Wayne Reiter, Columbus, OH, Angela Hergatt, Bellville, OH, Christopher Hahnle, Denton, TX, Jessica Hahnle, Nashville, TN, Valerie Fitch, Helena, MT; four great grandchildren, J.R., Weston, Riley and Brent; family member, John Korak, Sun City, AZ; dear friends, Arintha Heller, Seaford, DE, Donnie Myers, Ashland, OH, Bob and Vivian Wise, Sarasota, FL; and other too numerous to mention.

John D. Wheeler...
John D. Wheeler, age 85, of Kingsland, TX passed away July 3, 2004.
Mr. Wheeler was born June 13, 1919 in Park Springs, TX to John Henry and Ida Fae Brower Wheeler. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. He married Charlotte M. Cound on August 11, 1951 in Alamogordo, NM. He belonged to the El Maida Shrine, a 32nd degree Mason, Jaycees, and Packsaddle Country Club. He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Kingsland Community Church.
Memorial services were held Monday, July 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingsland Community Church with Reverend Tommie Beck officiating with services under the direction of Putnam Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Charlotte Wheeler, Kingsland, TX; two daughters, Gay Gambert and her husband, Jeff, Buchanan Dam, TX and Gwen Michal and her husband, Keith, Blanco, TX; one son, John Wheeler II and his wife, Jan, Magnolio, TX; one sister, Mary Pearson, Avoca, TX; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stephanie.

Mary Jo Pillow, age 60 of Nacogdoches, TX passed away June 28, 2004 in the Memorial Hospital in Nacagdoches, TX.
Mrs. Pillow was born November 15, 1943 in Muskogee, OK. She was a homemaker. She was a resident of Bowie since 1981 before moving to Nacogdoches to be near her son and his family in 2004.
Graveside services for Mrs. Pillow were held June 30, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery with Father Steve Berg officiating. Services were under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her son, Curtis Pillow and his wife Jamie, Nacogdoches, TX; one brother James; one sister, Margaret; and two grandchildren, Monica and Tiffany Pillow, both of Nacogdoches, TX.
Thelma Juanita Gossett Daugherty Grundy...
Mrs. Thelma Juanita Gossett Daugherty Grundy, age 80, of Cleburne, TX, passed away on June 27, 2004 in Cleburne.
She was born November 19, 1923 in Spanish Fort, TX. She was a homemaker and a member of Henderson St. Baptist Church in Cleburne, TX. Mrs. Grundy played the piano and sang at many churches and nursing homes for many years.
Graveside services were Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Newport Cemetery with Rev. Tommy John Mayo officiating. Fry Funeral Home of Bowie directed the service.
Survivors include: three sons, Ronnie and Royce Daugherty, both of Cleburne, TX and Wendell Daugherty of Everman, TX; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Jones of Houston, TX and Madilene Hickman of Haynsville, LA.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William A. Daugherty and her second husband, Joe
Grundy.
Jerome H. Pagel...
Jerome H. Pagel, age 84 of Muenster, TX passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004 in Muenster, TX.
Mr. Pagel was born September 1, 1919 to Jacob Jr. and Caecelia Trachta Pagel. As a young boy, he worked for C.D. Shamburger Lumber Company and later on became Manager of the Muenster yard. Following World War II, he and Roman J. Klement purchased the old Whyle Lumber Company in Saint Jo, TX. It was operated in that location for approximately one year then dismantled board by board and moved to Muenster. Together, they struggled to make Community Lumber one of the most prominent and respected businesses in the North Texas area. Rody and Jerome operated as partners in a number of business interests, some of which include the A-Ok Motel, Muenster Mobil Homes, HP&K Oil Company and their small ranch. Jerome remained active in his business interests until retirement in 2002. On February 5, 1940 he married Gertie Roberg. After nearly sixty years of marriage Gertie died on January 8, 2000. Four years later, on February 28, 2004 Jerome married a life long friend and business partner, Marcelene Klement. Jerome was a very pro-active hometown supporter. He served a number of years as a Muenster Public School Board Member; officer in the Muenster Industrial Foundation and served as an unofficial goodwill ambassador for Muenster wherever he went.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Muenster with Father John Alphonso and Father John Ohner, O.S.A. officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Muenster, TX.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Marcelene Pagel; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Charlie Ivers; son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Kay Pagel, Muenster, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, John and JoAnn Pagel, Muenster, TX; step children, Curtis and Cindee Klement, Houston, TX; Kimberly and Mike Reilly, Chicago, Tracey Klement, Dallas, TX, Cory and Brenda Klement, Valley View, TX and Ryan and Blake Klement, Sherman, TX; ten grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Robert Keith “Bob” Case...
Robert Keith “Bob” Case, age 58, of Bowie, TX passed away June 29, 2004 in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Case was born September 3, 1945 in Decatur, TX to Odie and Dovie Caton Case. He married Mary Goodrum on August 30, 1969 in Henrietta, TX. He served his country in the United States Army. He graduated from Midwestern State University in 1972. He was past president of Bowie National Bank and worked with the government for H.U.D.; S.B.A. and F.E.M.A. throughout his life. He enjoyed farming, gardening and spending time with his family.
Funeral services for Mr. Case were held Friday, July 2, 2004 in the Drawing Room of White Family Funeral Home with Reverend Jamie Reed officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.

Dora Ella Russell, age 91 of Nocona, TX passed away July 1, 2004 at the Nocona General Hospital in Nocona, TX.
Mrs. Russell was born April 29, 1913 in Earlsboro, OK to Dora Ella Craig and John Henry Reed. She married Robert Russell Jr. on May 25, 1934.
Funeral services for Mrs. Russell were held Monday, July 5, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Scott-Morris Chapel with Rev. Garry Davis and Rev. Scott Hamilton officiating. Interment was at the Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: “Her boys” Sam Williams, Raymond Murphey, David Fondren, David Lewis, Mike Leaf, Jimmy Guinn and Ricky Terry; two sisters, Blanche Tucker, Nocona, TX and Ruth Davis, Gainesville, TX; one sister-in-law, Bea Reed, Nocona, TX; her grandchildren, three and two by marriage; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dora Reed; her husband, Robert Russell Jr. on October 23, 1981; her daughter, Mary Dell Atkins; and her son, Carl Jo Russell on June 15, 2001.
Casket bearers included: Raymond Murphey, Sam Williams, Jason Simpson, Ricky Reed, Keith Sawyer and Indian Dearduff. Honorary Casket bearers included: Otis Davis, Donald Truell, David Fondren, David Lewis, Mike Leaf, Jimmy Guinn and Ricky Terry.
