Lew Martin Eckert...
     Lew Martin Eckert, age 83 of Nocona, TX passed away January 3, 2005 in the Nocona General Hospital in Nocona, TX.
     Mr. Eckert was born December 15, 1921 in Cleveland OH to Lewis and Beatrice Aldriche Eckert. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Nocona Hill Community.
Burial services were at the Nocona Cemetery.
     Surviving relatives include: five children; one sister; and several nieces and nephews. 

 

Charlotte Beatrice Bell...
    
Charlotte Beatrice Bell, 78, passed away January 1, 2005 in Alvord, Texas.
     Funeral Services were held 2:00 pm, Monday, January 3 in the Drawing Room of the White Family Funeral Home with Robert Cox and Gentry Castleman officiating under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.
      Interment was at Post Oak Cemetery.
     Charlotte was born February 28, 1926 to Needham and Ela Mae Bell in Newport. She worked for Victor Equipment Company in Denton for twenty eight years. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charlie Bell, Aaron Bell, and Hess Bell; and two sisters, Lorena Bell and Leona Case.
     She is survived by her sisters, Irene Poe of Alvord and Gladys Leek of Bowie; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Milburn W. (Mutt) Allen....
     Milburn W. (Mutt) Allen, 80, of Bellevue, Texas, died Sunday, January 2, 2005 in Wichita Falls.
Funeral Services were held 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 5 at the First Baptist Church of Bellevue with Robert Slaton officiating under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.
      Burial was at the Joy Cemetery in Joy, Texas.
      Mr. Allen was born in Hunt County, Texas on December 18, 1924 to Lloyd and Hazel Henderson Allen. He was married to Mary Alice Faulk, who preceded him in death. Mr. Allen served in the United States Army from 1943-1948. He was a PFC in the 41st Infantry Division, stationed most of that time in the South Pacific. Before his retirement, he was employed by Bridwell Oil Company of Wichita Falls, Texas; and Mack Truck Company in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Allen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bellevue, Texas.
      In addition to his wife, Mary, he is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Allen and Hazel Spikes; grandparents, E.F. & Rebecca Henderson, who raised him; and his brother, Albert Allen.
      He is survived by four brothers, B.E. Allen, Lonnie Allen, and Lester Allen, all of Wichita Falls, and Troy Spikes of Bellevue; and three sisters, Frankie Campbell of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Joyce Reeves and Lois Walker of Dallas. 

 

 

Charles Scherwyn Sartor...
      Charles Scherwyn Sartor, 69, passed away Thursday, December 30 in Wichita Falls.
      Graveside Services were held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 1, 2005 at Elmwood Cemetery with Dwayne Lamberson officiating under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.
      Charles was born November 18, 1935 in Cleburne to Herman and Mary Lee Sartor. He married Charlie Dell Foote on June 17, 1958 and worked as a manager for Video Independent Theaters for twenty-three years until his retirement. He also worked for Kreig, Owens, and Brumley Funeral Directors for ten years. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler.
      He is preceded in death by his sons, Charles David Sartor and Richard Scherwyn Sartor; parents, Herman and Mary Lee Sartor; and sisters, Peggy Malcom and Pat Jones.
      He is survived by his wife, Charlie Sartor; two daughters, Karen Wichert and her husband, Kenny of Bowie, and Sharon Quinn and her husband, David of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Ann Dawson of Alvarado, Jerry Lynn Wells of Joshua, and Jan Redding of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

 

Jimmie Lee Rhoades...
      Jimmie Lee Rhoades, 89, a resident of Bowie, TX since 1948, passed away on December 28, 204 in Bowie Nursing Center.
       He was born April 8, 1915 in Newport, TX. On August 16, 1941 he married Virgie Tarpley. He was retired from Bowie Milling Co. after 30 years of service. Mr. Rhoades was a member of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services were Friday, December 31, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home Chapel in Bowie with Rev. Ray Payne officiating. Interment was in Silver Hill Cemetery near Post Oak, TX. Fry Funeral Home directed the service.
      Pallbearers were Scott Tomlin, Donny Tomlin, James Wood, Brance Rhoades, Chance Rhoades and Gerald Britt.
      Survivors include: two daughters, Geneva Tomlin of Grapevine, TX and Gracie Wood of Bowie, TX; one son, Jimmy D. Rhoades of Bowie, TX; one sister, Ruth Ptomey of Lillian, TX; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Lanora Rhoades of Bowie, TX and Ava Rhoades of Jacksboro, TX
      He was preceded in death by: his wife, Virgie Rhoades; one sister, Mary Ann Rhoades; and six brothers,  Roy, Mason, Cecil, Severia, John and Albert Rhoades.

 

 

Louie Oldham...
     
Louie Oldham, 85, of Nocona, TX, passed away December 28, 2004 in Plano Medical Center.
      He was born April 4, 1919 in Nocona and was the son of the late William Othor Oldham and Emma Lee Oldham. He married Dorothy Keck on January 11, 1943. Mr. Oldham served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1941 to 1945. He and his father owned and operated a concrete company in the Nocona area for over 40 years. He was a member of Central Christian Church of Nocona. He loved his family and will be remembered for his craftsmanship, work ethic and honesty.
     Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Oldham of Nocona; one son, James and his wife Norma Oldham of Nocona.
           He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin sister, Louise Oldham Hill.
Funeral services were Friday, December 31, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Christian Church in Nocona with Rev. Tommy Lamascus officiating. Interment followed in the Nocona Cemetery. Scott Morris Funeral Home directed the services.

Lee McCain Winingham...
     
Lee McCain Winingham, 96, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 in Bowie.
      Funeral services were held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 1, 2005 at The First Baptist Church of Bowie with Mike Henson officiating under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.
Burial was at Hopewell Cemetery.
       Memorials may be sent to the Hopewell Cemetery Association, c/o Sonja Weatherford, 14367 FM 1806, Bowie, Texas 76230.
      Lee was born November 5, 1908 in the Denver Community to John & Bessie (Williams) Winingham. His great grandfather, Hance McCain, moved to the Clear Creek area of Montague County in 1870 with his ten children. Lee married Lucille Stubbs in 1928. They farmed & ranched their entire life in Montague County.
      He was an ordained deacon at the First Baptist Church of Stoneburg and the First Baptist Church, Bowie. Mr. Winingham was a Charter member of Montague County Farm Bureau and served as a member of the board until his retirement in 1985. He was also a long standing member of the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He was employed by the Stoneburg ISD as a bus driver from 1934 to 1952.
      He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille and two sisters, Margie Prater and Mae Bell.
      He is survived by one daughter, Frances Myers of Abilene; two sons, James Winingham and his wife, Barbara of Bowie and Dan Winingham and his wife, Elaine of Olney; nine grandchildren, Nancy Myers Anthony of Colleyville, Randy Myers of Abilene, Donna Winingham MD of Templeton, California, Marilyn Judy of Crawford, Janet Sakel of Mason, Ohio, David Winingham of Stoneburg, Susan Pulley of Iowa Park, Mark Winingham of Benbrook, and Brad Winingham of Midlothian; one step granddaughter, Michelle Paul of Olney; twenty one great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.

 

Lonnie Weldon Tettleton...
     
Lonnie Weldon Tettleton, 71, of Bowie, TX, passed away on December 30, 2004 at James West Hospice Center.
      He was born June 18, 1933 in Spanish Fort, TX to Calvin and Bessie Irene Tettleton. Mr. Tettleton had worked for McCommons Oil Company as Production Manager. He was a Mason and was baptized in the Church of Christ.
      Funeral services were Saturday, January 1, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Interment followed in Spanish Fort Cemetery. Scott Morris Funeral Home directed the services.
      Survivors include: three sons, Mike and wife Janice Tettleton and Joe and wife Jane Tettleton, of Arlington, TX and John Douglas Tettleton of Fort Worth,TX; one daughter, Marcy and husband Danny Weir of Big Springs, TX; two sisters, Ila Fae Linn of Nocona, TX and Anne Mae Houpt of Bowie, TX; eight grandchildren, Jody Craig Tettleton, Jon David Tettleton, Michael Richard Tettleton, Markus Allen Tettleton, Matthew Scott Tettleton, Jessica Beth Weir, Whitney Rae Weir and Kelsey Reed Weir; four great grandchildren, Micah Glenn Tettleton, Gabriel Scott Tettleton, Emily Elizabeth Irene Tettleton and Ethan James Tettleton.
      He was preceded in death by: his parents; and three brothers, Thomas, Alvin and Melvin Tettleton.

 

William Don “Jesse” Guilliams...
           
William Don “Jesse” Guilliams, 65, of Lebanon, PA passed away December 26, 2004 in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. He was the husband of Emily Stuart Graw Guilliams.
            He was born in Montague, TX on October 8, 1939. He was the son of the late Welborn M. and Edith H. Romine Guilliams. He served in the U.S. Army. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, a Master of Art in Painting from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburg. He lived and worked as a painter in New York City for 20 years and showed his work in New York and museums and galleries throughout the country. He lived in Lebanon County for the past twenty years.
      Survivors in addition to his wife is a son, John Scholfield Guilliams of the home; one daughter, Erin Stuart Guilliams of the home; one sister, Jo, wife of Robert Greer of Leesburg, FL; one brother, Jack L. and wife Margaret Guilliams of Fredericksburg.
            Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were under the direction of Kreamer Funeral Home, Annville, PA.
