Robert Eugene DeSoza, 43, of Bowie, TX, passed away July 24, 2004 in Bowie.
He was born December 4, 1960 in Long Beach, CA to Loren Thomas and Hazel May Williams DeSoza. He worked in the oil fields as an operator.
Services were Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Drawing Room of White Family Funeral Home with Greg Newton officiating. White Family Funeral Home directed the service.
Interment followed in Brushy Cemetery, Bowie, TX.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kalann Nicole DeSoza of Bowie, TX; one son, Robert Ray DeSoza of Bowie, TX;
fiancée, Terri Caswell of Bowie, TX; two brothers, Bill Gildner and his wife Lisa, of Allen, TX and Arthur Sizemore and wife Susan, of Ringling, OK; three sisters, Gail Gaudet and husband Allen, of Lockport, LA, Jemae Hawkins and husband Art, of Newport, TX and Laura Womack of Sweetwater, TX; fourteen nieces and nephews; and sixteen great nieces and nephews.
Mr. DeSoza was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Terry
Yovonne.

Reta “Jean” Shurtleff, 89, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2004 in Bowie, TX.
She was born June 12, 1915 in McCauley, TX to Charles and Nola Henderson Parker. She was a real estate agent in the Bowie area for many years and was a 57 year resident of Bowie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F.
Shurtleff.
Graveside services were Sunday, July 25, 2004 in Elmwood Cemetery with Guy W. Orbison Sr. and David Hall officiating. White Family Funeral Home directed the service.
Honorary pallbearers were Troy Johnson, Weldon George, Curtis Garrett and Loyd Morris.
Survivors include: one son, Charles F. Shurtleff and his wife Carolyn, of Sulpher Springs; daughter Carla Swofford and husband Jon, of Bowie; five grandchildren, Keith Shurtleff and his wife Beth, of Sulpher Springs; Kevin Shurtleff, DVM and his wife Kay, of Mesquite; Kim Watson and her husband Richard, of Lawrenceburg, KY; Jennifer Jennings and her husband Jason, of Bowie; Jill Evens and her husband Scott, of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister Sue Obrison and her husband Guy, of Brownsville; and seven great-grandchildren.

Alice Dee Gibson, age 91 of Duncan, OK passed away July 22, 2004 in Duncan Care Center in Duncan, OK.
Mrs. Gibson was born September 12, 1912 in Whitesboro, TX to Lee Benjamin and Mary Ella Johnson Phillips. She married Baxter Odell Gibson
“Blackie”.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gibson were held Monday, July 26, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Roberson officiating. Interment was at Long Branch Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her children, Peggy Luckett, Duncan, OK and Benny Gibson, Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Mary Ella Phillips, her husband, Baxter Odell Gibson on January 28, 1997 and one son, Bobby Odell Gibson on April 12, 2004.

Mrs. Hobbs was born August 20, 1910 in Eldorado, OK to James Bartley and Winnie Morris Worley. She married Jimmy Hobbs.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hobbs were held Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Trent in Trent, TX with Rev. Ronnie Freeman officiating. Interment was at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Maxine Emerson, Wichita Falls, TX and Janis Andrews, Bennington, OK; two sons, Jimmy Hobbs, Trent, TX and Dennis Hobbs, Wichita Falls, TX; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Mr. Rogers were born March 5, 1946 in Fort Worth, TX. He married Sherry Jones on June 14, 1969 in Hurst, TX.
Memorial services for Mr. Rogers were held Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Forestburg, TX with Rev. Sam Campbell officiating.

Lorea Fox Crownover, 92, of Nocona, TX, passed away on July 25, 2004 at Horizon Manor Nursing Center, Nocona.
She was born August 10, 1910 in Spanish Fort, TX to William Theodis Fox and Hattie Viola Level. She was a member of the Valley View Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church, and an active member of WMU (Women’s Missionary Union) and she taught a Ladies Sunday School class, until her health no longer permitted it. She had worked for Nocona Truck and Tractor as a bookkeeper. Her and her husband were very supportive of the Spanish Fort Cemetery and were instrumental in the archway that is there now. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Crownover May 16, 1996.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Scott-Morris Chapel with Rev. Tommy Lamascus officiating. Scott-Morris Funeral Home of Nocona directed the service. Interment followed in Spanish Fort Cemetery.
Survivors include a host of faithful nieces and nephews.

Susanne Marie (Walterschied) Wieler, age 94 of Muenster, TX passed away July 25, 2004 at Saint Richards Villa in Muenster, TX.
Mrs. Wieler was born October 29, 1909 in Muenster, TX to Conrad and Amelia Hilz Walterschied. She married John Joseph Wieler in April of 1937 in Muenster, TX. She was a homemaker and a life long resident of Muenster, TX.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at Muenster, TX with Rev. John Ohner, O.S.A. officiating. Interment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Jean Newbill, Fort Worth, TX and Juanita Broome, Springfield, VA; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Bertha Hamric. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wieler, on March 15, 1976; one sister, Isabel Trachta; and one brother, Otto

Marie Rainwater, 87, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2004 in Bowie, TX.
She was born August 30, 1916 in Smithsville, OK to Robert and Purlena Baggs. She married Odell Thomas Rainwater on May 9, 1953 in Henrietta, TX. Mrs. Rainwater was a homemaker.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at Saint Peters Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis Kitzmann officiating. White Family Funeral Home directed the service.
Interment followed in Lindale Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Edwin Kleinhans, Jimmie Little, Brent Husfeld, Waldo Roth, David Geis and Steve Long. Honorary pallbearers were Walter Husfeld, Melvin Husfeld, Ed Robinson and Linford Roth.
Survivors include: her husband, Odell Thomas Rainwater; four children, Gary Rainwater and wife Sharon, of Bowie, TX; Gail Styles and husband David, of DeKalb; Ed Poertner and wife Nancy, of Emporia, KS; Frankie Poertner of Emporia, KS; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
