Don McCarty, age 67 of Park Springs, TX passed away June 5, 2004 in Park Springs, TX.
Mr. McCarty was born February 24, 1937 on an Indian Reservation in an adobe hut in Hatch, NM to Herman and Clara McCarty. He was a supervisor for a foundry. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services for Mr. McCarty were held Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Slimp officiating. Interment was at the Sunset Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Christine McCarty, Park Springs, TX; one son, Andy Paul Miller, Beloit, OH; one daughter, Jeana I. Miller, Holliday, TX; three grandsons, Anthony Don Deretto and Jordan Daniel Deretto, both of Holliday, TX and Drew Logan Miller, Beloit, OH; and one brother, Herman Doughty, Durant, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Clara McCarty; one brother, Dean Doughty; and stepfather, John Doughty.

Lola Harper, 85, of Nocona, TX, passed away June 12, 2004 at Nocona General Hospital.
She was born December 7, 1918 in Montague County, TX to Dave Heaton and Evie Long Heaton. On December 15, 1934 she married Clint “Red” Harper. Mrs. Harper was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She owned and operated Town and Country Beauty Shop and she was a Shade Tree Mechanic along side of her husband.
Services were on Monday, June 14, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Moore officiating.
Survivors include: one granddaughter, Revell Hardison of Nocona, TX; great grandson, Kyler Hardison of Nocona, TX; son-in-law, Sam Edwin of Fort Worth, TX; nephews Larry Heaton of Henrietta, TX and Jimmy Dale Heaton of South Lake, TX; one sister, Vernell Lovett of Jacksboro; one brother, Dale Heaton of Montague, TX; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband in 1993; one brother, Clarence Heaton in 1964; and one daughter, Betty Edwin in 1971.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church.

Clint Bryant, 66, of Nocona, TX, passed away on June 13, 2004 at Nocona General Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1938 in Montague, TX to Oscar Bryant and Gracie Romine Bryant. Mr. Bryant married Elenora Friske. He worked in the oil field and construction.
Services were Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Scott-Morris Chapel with Father Steve Burg officiating. Interment followed in Montague Cemetery. Scott-Morris Funeral Home directed the services.
Survivors include: two daughters, Debra Parr of Bowie, TX and Donna Bryant of Nocona, TX; step-children, Brenda and Greg Collins, Mike & Michelle Clark, and Donald & Stacy Clark, all of Throckmorton, TX, Teddy & Kay Clark and Ricky & Terri Clark, all of Woodson, TX, one sister, Nancy Daniel of Bowie, TX; and one brother, Dave Bryant of Logan, NM.
Josie Sigman...
Josie Sigman, age 86, of Bowie, TX passed away June 11, 2004 in the Bowie Memorial Hospital in Bowie, TX.
Mrs. Sigman was born September 21, 1917 in Proffit, TX. She was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church in Bowie where she kept the nursery for many years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sigman were held Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: three sisters-in-laws, Rachel Graves, Grand Prairie, TX, Ruth Sigman, Demming, NM and Wanda Sigman, Bowie, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy Joan Pool, 62, of Nocona, TX, passed away on June 12, 2004 in the Nocona General Hospital.
She was born December 17, 1941 to Milton R. Pool and Christine Holt Pool.
Services were on Monday, .June 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. L.C. Smith officiating. Interment followed in Shady Grove Cemetery. Jerry Woods Funeral Home directed the service.
She is survived by: her mother, Christine Pool.

Dorothy Virginia “Nin” Williams, age 81, of Bowie, TX passed away June 7, 2004 in Lometa, TX.
Mrs. Williams was born July 1, 1922 to D. Alvin and Callie Hill. She married J.H. Williams and after his retirement from the Wichita Falls Police Department they moved to Bowie. She was employed by Safeway Grocery and Affiliated Foods prior to her retirement.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams were held Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Bowie with Dr. Larry Spradley officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, J.H. Williams, Bowie, TX; one son, Danny Williams, Carrollton, TX; one daughter, Jan Denson, Lometa, TX; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Juanita Walker, Wichita Falls, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothes, Elton, R.D., Hugh and Reeves Hill; and one sister, Faye Gaines.

Jean Seeds, 69, of Nocona, TX, passed away on June 11, 2004 at the Nocona General Hospital.
She was born July 1, 1934 in Velma, OK to Eldy Sain and Mary Romine Sain. On September 11, 1952, she married James Seeds. Mrs. Seeds was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nocona.
Graveside services for Mrs. Seeds were Monday, June 14, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Ringgold Cemetery with Dr. Bryan Parks officiating. Scott-Morris Funeral Home directed the service.
Survivors include: her husband, James Seeds of Nocona,TX; children, Cindy McCullough of Nocona, TX, Doug Seeds of Whiteriver, AZ and Patti Lankford of Denton, TX; one sister, Nora Joe Murray of Dumas, TX; ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Honorary casket bearers were: Jimmie Lankford, Jimbo Hancock, Alan Godwin, Steve McCullough and Jim Murray.

Mr. Emmitt Deweber, 85, of Bowie, TX, passed away June 3, 2004 at Westview Care Center in Seymour, TX. He was born April 28, 1919 in Cundiff, TX to Newt & Cora Deweber. Mr. Deweber was married to Elsie McGowan for sixty-three years. They moved to Bowie in 1950. He was the maintenance foreman for the TxDOT until retirement in 1981. While working for TxDOT he was recognized for contributions to Texas Highway Beautification Program by Lady Byrd Johnson. Mr. Deweber was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bowie and the Gideons Mens’ Class. He was founder and officer of Silver Strings, an officer of the Lion’s Club and Senior Citizens.
Services were on Sunday, June 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bowie with Rev. Tommy Jon Mayo officiating. Interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery. Fry Funeral Home directed the services.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Elsie Deweber of Bowie, TX; one son, N.E. Deweber of Seymour, TX; two daughters, Coleen White of Midland, TX and Trice Whitaker of Carrollton, TX; one brother, Newton Deweber of Bowie, TX; two sisters, Mrs. Opal Ogle of Bowie, TX and Mrs. Irma Ree Mayo of Midland, TX; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Mr. Deweber was preceded in death by: his parents, sisters, Rachel Hubble, Ruby Reaves and Millie Ogle; and one brother, Virgil Ogle.
