Mabel Marie Sills Goodman, 81, was called from this life on October
4, 2004 in Bowie, TX.
Mabel was born June 16, 1923 in the community of Brushy, near Bowie,
the daughter of Thomas Watson and Viola Rhyne Slade. She married
Weldon Bailey Sills on September 4, 1939 in Sunset and raised two
children until his passing in 1967. She met and married Roy L.
Goodman on April 12, 1974 in Montague, celebrating their 30th
wedding anniversary this year. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in
the Drawing Room of White Family Funeral Home with Dewayne Lamberson
officiating, under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.
Burial followed in Brushy Cemetery.
Survivors include: her husband of 30 years, Roy Goodman of Bowie;
daughter Janet Marie Havenell and her husband, Max of Fort Worth,
son Don Gaylon Sills and his wife Amelia of Bowie, TX; three
grandchildren, J.D. Peyrot and his wife, Tricia of Waxahachie, TX,
Michelle Lee Cordero and her husband, Ed of Frisco, TX, Nicole Marie
Jeanes and her husband, Jeffrey of Puyallup, WA; five great
grandchildren, Kelsey Marie and Preston Thomas Peyrot, Schyler
Benjamin and Hudson Alexander Cordero and Bailey Maire Jeanes.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity or the Disabled
Veterans.

Marion Richard Phillips, 73, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004 in
Bowie, TX from complications due to lung cancer.
He was born on January 9, 1931 in Oklahoma City, OK to John Herman
and Ann Elizabeth McManus Phillips. He was the youngest of nine
children. He lived most of his life in San Diego, CA. He retired
from Ryder Trucking in Santa Ana, CA. After his retirement he moved
to Bowie.
Memorial services were to be held at a later date in Oceanside, CA.
Arrangements were the direction of White’s Family Funeral Home,
Bowie, TX.
Survivors include: his daughter, Crystal Larson and husband, Marc of
Ocenside, CA; two sisters, Toni Gibson of Redlands, CA and Rachel
Ziegler of Montesano, WA; eight grandchildren; and five great
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Richard Joseph
Phillips.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rural Texas.

Nelda Faye Carnes, 65, passed away October 6, 2004 in Bowie, TX.
She was born October 11, 1938 to Tom and Gladys Davis Beard. She was
a homemaker.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2004 at
Ringgold Cemetery with Rev. James Turner officiating. White Family
Funeral Home directed the service.
She is survived by: two sons, Billy Roy Boatwright, Jr. of Midland,
TX and Dwindell Lee Boatwright and his wife Angela of Tulsa, OK; one
daughter, Della Martin and her husband Bruce of Bowie; four
grandchildren; eight sisters; and two brothers.
Mrs. Carnes was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Carnes.
Kathy Maisen Fenoglio...
Kathy Maisen Fenoglio, 57, of Conroe, TX passed away on October 9,
2004 in Conroe, TX.
She was orn April 10, 1947 in Mexia, TX to Carl and Juanita Maisen.
She was a highly respected employee of Conroe High School, of which
she had just begun her 21st eyar. She was a mother and Nana who was
never far away, no matter how many miles were between. Kathy was a
loyal and trusted friend and sister. She was an avid reader,
gardener, cook and loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fenoglio were Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at
4:30 p.m. at Tree of Life Luthern Church with Pastor Dr. Luke Bouman
officiating. Metcalf Funeral Directors of Conroe, TX directed the
service.
A private graveside service was held at Mexia Cemetery.
She is survived by: her children, Edward A. Fenoglio, Jr. and his
wife Christine, Rebecca A. Hankamer and husband Hank, Jennifer F.
Martin and husband Keith; grandchildren, Benjamin Baker, Hunter
Fenoglio, Chandler Fenoglio, Maisen Hankamer, Samuel Martin; sister,
Karla Leaman; brother, Billie Maisen; uncle and aunt, Billie and
Mildred Pollard; nieces and nephews, Kelly Collins, Kuke Leaman and
Matthew Maisen, Robert Wallace; great niece Ryan Wallace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Juanita Maisen.

Ray Andrew Fenoglio...
Ray Andrew Fenoglio, 84, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2004 in
Bowie, TX.
He was born May 22, 1920 in Montague, TX to A.J. and Mary Fenoglio.
He married Oleta I. Blassious McCracken on December 7, 1941 at Saint
Mary’s Catholic Church in Henrietta, TX. He finished an elementary
education and a Forestburg honorary high school diploma. He served
his country in the United States Army. He was a charter member of
the Bowie National Bank and chairman of the board from 1963 until
his retirement in 1987. He was a charter member of the Bowie Kiwanis
Club, member of the Bowie Chamber of Commerce, member of the Top of
the Lake Country Club, served on the Tax Equalization Board and was
chairman of ASCS. Ray helped with the North Texas Rehabilitation
Auction and was a major fundraiser for numerous organizations. He
was the past president of Saint Williams Catholic Church, served on
the Parish Council for numerous years, and was head of the Saint
Williams Catholic Cemetery. He was active in the Montague County
Fire Department, the Democratic Party, the Courthouse Lighting, the
American Heart Association, Bowie Memorial Hospital, Montague School
and Nocona High School where his children attended.
Rosary was at Saint Williams Catholic Church on Thursday, October 7,
2004 at 6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial was on Friday, October 8, 2004 at 11:00
a.m. at Saint Williams Catholic Church in Montague with Father
Stephen Berg, celebrant, under the direction of White Family Funeral
Home. Burial followed at the Montague Catholic Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife, Oleta “Mack” Fenoglio of Montague;
sons, Donald Ray Fenoglio and Tommy Fenoglio, of Montague;
daughters, Glenna Clay and her husband Bill of Montague; brother
Melvin Fenoglio of Montague; grandsons, Donnie Fenoglio, Darren
Fenoglio, Tony Fenoglio, Heathe Heller, Brady Fenoglio;
granddaughters, Dena Tomlinson, Kyla Hamilton, Koni Jones, Dede
Coffman, Angela Kleinhans, Sommer Heller; special friend, Becky
Dickson, and children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: one daughter, Judy Keck; sisters, Tilda
Nobile, Mae Beckman, Ruby Fenoglio; brothers, Tony, James, William
“Pete”, and Henry Fenoglio; and one great-grandchild, Christopher
Hamilton.
Pallbearers were Donnie and Darren Fenoglio, Heathe Heller, Brady
Fenoglio, Tony Fenoglio, Terry Jones and Chris Hamilton. Honorary
pallbearers were his godchildren, Eddie Fenoglio, Randy Nobile, Dr.
Browder, Lynn Heller, Becky Dickson, Libby Webb, Steven Clay and
Kyla Hamilton.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Saint
Williams Catholic Church.
