Ozie Andrew “Sandy” Brickey...
Ozie Andrew “Sandy” Brickey, age 85, of Bowie, TX passed away March 2, 2004 in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Brickey was born November 14, 1918 in Letot, TX to Thomas Huey “T.H.” and Purnie Moody Brickey. He married Geraldine Smith on May 2, 1937 in Denton County. He served in the United States Army from 1942 - 1945 at which time he served under General Pattens 3rd Army at the Battle of the Bulge. He fought in the battles of Normandy, Northern France and the European Theater. For his actions he was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He and his brother, R.L. “Buster” Brickey owned and operated the Montague County Farmers Supply and Brickey Brothers Service Station. After years of self employment, he was employed with the First National Bank of Bowie. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #578 and
V.F.W.
Funeral services for Mr. Brickey were held Friday, March 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eastside Baptist Church with Reverends Jamie Reed and Don Haney officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Dave Brickey, Bowie, TX; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, R.L. “Buster” Brickey, Bowie, TX and George Brickey, Robert Lee, TX; one sister, Donia Ansley, Athens, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine “Jerry” Brickey; one daughter, Kathy Fisher; and one sister, Hazel Maddox.
Pallbearers included: Doug Brickey, Mike Brickey, Robert Brickey, Charles Burkhart, Steve Garrett and Jay Evans.

Ronny Chisum, age 50, of Bowie, TX passed away March 5, 2004 in the Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, TX.
Mr. Chisum was born March 10, 1953 in Duncan, OK to Lona Belle and Orville A. Chisum. He was an oil well serviceman and a resident of Bowie for ten years.
Memorial services for Mr. Chisum were held Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bobby Deaver and Rev. Matthew Taylor officiating, under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: three sons, David McDaniel, Farmington, NM, Cody Chisum, Bowie, TX and Chris Fugate, Bowie, TX; three daughters, Miranda Chisum, Midland, TX, Katrena Chisum, Bowie, TX and Dana Matalgah, Fort Worth, TX; two grandsons; two sisters, Shirley Hutto, Bowie, TX and Barbara Shelton, Duncan, OK; three brothers, Troy Chisum, Dale Chisum and Kenneth Chisum, all of Duncan, OK; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville A. and Lona Belle Chisum; and one grandson, Grant McDaniel.

Carolyn Ann Cooper Salmon, age 72, of Abilene, TX passed away March 6, 2004.
Mrs. Salmon was born June 5, 1931 in Nocona, TX to Grace Mae Price and Winstead O. Cooper. She attended Abilene Christian College and was a teacher at Abilene Independent School District. She was a member of the Highland Church of Christ in Abilene, TX.
Funeral services for Mrs. Salmon were held Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Highland Church of Christ in Abilene, TX. Interment was held March 11, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at the Nocona Cemetery with Ministers Mike Cope and Lynn Anderson officiating, under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.

Jim Carlile, age 55, of Bowie, TX passed away March 3, 2004 at the Bowie Memorial Hospital in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Carlile was born March 17, 1948 in Simon, OK to Alma and J.W. Carlile. He married Barbara Jo House on September 9, 1972 in Blackwell, OK. He grew up in Wilson, OK where he attended and graduated Wilson High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS “Enterprise” as an Aviation Electronics Technician. After his discharge he started work at Cities Service. He attended Tynale Biblical Institute and graduated with a degree in Christian Counseling. He was a member of and Associate Pastor of and Christian Counselor of the New Hope Baptist Church in Bowie. He retired in 1999 from Cities Service-Dynergy Petrolium Company after thirty years as a field man. He was a former Associate Pastor and Christian Counselor of the Faith Baptist Church in Bowie, TX. He was a past Commander and life member of the Reddy-McClellan VFW Post # 8789 in Bowie.
Funeral services for Mr. Carlile were held Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church in Bowie, TX with Rev. Dewayne Lamberson officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Barbara “Jo” Carlile, Bowie, TX; two step daughters, Stephanie Spencer, Elk City, OK, and Cheri Schutte, Lawton, OK; his father, J.W. Carlile and his wife, Ella Faye Carlile, Canton, TX; two brothers, Lavoy Carlile, Canton, TX and W.M. Carlile, Hennessey, OK; one sister, Yvetta King, Shawnee, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Carlile in 1980. Pallbearers included: Kenny Wichert, Todd Hammer, Denny Keith, Charlie Parr, Dickie Rodger and Jerry Carlisle. Mrs. Pults was born September 16, 1902 in Nocona, TX to Belle Womack and James Jackson Morris. She married George Thomas Pults September 23, 1923 in Jack County, TX. She was a homemaker and had taught school in Jack County and Nocona. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a former resident of Nocona, TX.

Mrs. Duckworth was born February 2, 1917 to Jessie Brooks and Lawrence W. Pemberton. She married Clifton W. Duckworth and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Nocona, TX.

Mr. Thomas was born January 25, 1935 in Brownwood, TX to Sue Marburger and Gomer Thomas. He married Margaret Diffee on December 25, 1975 in Jacksboro, TX. He served in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years and retired in 1972. He was a safety director in the trucking industry. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a former resident of Bellevue, TX.
Graveside services for Mr. Thomas were held Sunday, March 7, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bellevue Cemetery with Rev. Charles Stephens officiating, under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Capps was born July 14, 1936 in Paden, Oklahoma to Everett and Della Monroe Tull. She married Melvin Capps in 1984. Maxine owned and operated the Grocery store in Ringgold. She was a member of The Faith Baptist Church in Weatherford, TX.
