Glenn Devon Chappell...
Glenn Devon Chappell, 83, of Lake Nocona,
TX, passed away on April 12, 2005 in Dallas, TX.
He was born February 5, 1922 in Vernon, TX to Leonell
Carlton and Willie Ida Reeves Chappell. He married Winnie Jewell Martin.
Glenn was a custom boot maker and a member of Jean’s Mens’ Bible Class.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Services were Thursday, April 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at
Scott Morris Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Ballard of Utah officiating.

Survivors include: one daughter, Nelda Hopkins of
Crowell, TX; four sons, Mel Chappell of Gautier, MS, Carl Chappell of
Saint Jo, TX, Paul of Battle Mountain, NV and John Chappel of Vernon,
TX; a close friend, Irene Bryant of Gainesville, TX; two brothers; ten
grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife
Winnie; two brothers; and one sister.
Ruth Sutton...
Ruth Sutton, age 87 of Nocona, TX passed
away April 17, 2005 in Nocona General Hospital.
Mrs. Sutton was born April 1, 1918 to Jacob and Lutie
Bobo Kilpatrick. She married Haney Sutton in 1957. She was a member of
the First Baptist Church and Nocona Hospital Auxiliary. She was an LVN
and had worked at the Major Clinic Hospital, Nocona General Hospital,
Horizon Manor Nursing Home and for Nocona Nursing Home. She served in
the United States Army as a Medical Technician where she received the
American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory
Ribbon. She attended Southwest Baptist Seminary and received a ARE
degree in 1953.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sutton were Tuesday, April
19, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Nocona, TX.
Interment was at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Stoneburg, TX.
Surviving relatives include: her step children, Bill
Sutton, Paris TX, Bob Sutton, Nocona, TX and Margaret Sutton, Dallas,
TX; and nephews Monte and Tommy Yowell of Bowie and Jon Yowell of
Hollis, OK; nine step grandchildren; and a special great granddaughter
who cared for her, Rachel McCall of Nocona, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband
and a sister, O’Desa Yowell, two brothers Pat & Walter Kilpatrick.
Danny Lee Johnson...
Danny Lee Johnson, infant, of Bowie, TX
passed away April 15, 2005 at the Wise Regional Health Systems in
Decatur, TX.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at
11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery with Dr. Ronnie Lawson officiating, under
the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his parents, Donald and
Denise Johnson, Bowie, TX; two sisters, Dyann and Dayna Johnson, Bowie,
TX; grandparents, Jerry Johnson, Bowie, TX and John and Shirley
Bratcher, Arlington, TX; one aunt and two uncles. She was preceded in
death by her grandmother, Carolyn Johnson.
Cecil Dewayne Moore...
Cecil Dewayne Moore, 69, of Fort Worth, TX,
passed away April 15, 2005 in Bedford, TX.
He was born March 27, 1936 in Vashti, TX to Edwin and
Jewell (Adams) Moore. He was a Bellevue High School graduate, raised as
a Methodist and a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Fort Worth. He was
also a member of Bowie Masonic Lodge #578 AF & AM. He was a welder for
Southland Contractors.
Funeral services were Sunday, April 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Abbott officiating. Fry Funeral Home directed
the service.
Burial followed in Vashti Cemetery, Vashti, TX.
Survivors include: three sons, Craig Moore of
Boyd, TX, Mickey Wayne Moore of OK and Casey Moore of Dallas, TX; one
daughter, Cecilia Moore of Fort Worth, TX; two sisters; and seven
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.

Carroll Brooks Winn...
Carroll Brooks Winn, 68, passed away Saturday, April
16, 2005 in Bowie, TX.
He was born January 26, 1937 to Sam Brooks and Vera Mae
(Thompson) Winn. He married Saundra Gaye Mershon on June 26, 1959 in
Bowie. He was the co-owner of Winn Feed Store until 1973. He worked for
Bowie Independent School District for 10 years. He was an avid sports
fan. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bowie and a member of
Jean’s Men’s Bible Class.
Funeral services were on Monday, April 18, 2005 at 2:00
p.m. at First Baptist Church of Bowie with Mike Henson officiating.
White Family Funeral Home directed the service.
Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife, Saundra Winn of
Bowie, TX; two sons, Darron Winn of Denton, TX and Curtis Winn of
Aubrey, TX; one daughter, Tracye Winn of Dallas, TX; three
grandchildren, Blake, Melissa and Hannah; one brother, Kenneth Winn and
his wife, Mary Lou of Bowie; sister-in-law, JoAnn Winn of Bowie; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Charles Walsh, Bill Ray Roberts,
Warren Ray Reynolds, Tim Winn, Bill Duvall and Ronnie Hankins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Vera
Winn and brother Bobby Winn.
