Van Alan Vanpool...
Van Alan Vanpool, 54, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005 in Bowie, TX.
He was born in Decatur, TX on May 9, 1950 to Charley and Frankie Vanpool and graduated from Bowie High School in 1968. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Midwestern State University in 1972. Van had a distinguished career as a musician. He was organist at First Methodist Church of Bowie from 1973 to 1985 and again from 1995 to the present. He also was director of the Bowie Civic Singers from 1978 to 1985.
Since 1998, as a member and current Sub-Dean of the Wichita Falls Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, Van has performed in numerous concerts and organ workshops in Wichita Falls and the Texoma area.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church of Bowie with Rev. Dr. Chuck Aaron and Rev. Sara Hardaway officiating. White Family Funeral Home of Bowie directed the service. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Caswell, Norman Caswell, Dale Cox, Jim Moore, Danny Russell and David Scruggs.
Honorary pallbearers were David Caswell, Paul Prater and Gayno Shelton.
Survivors include: his parents, Charley and Frankie Vanpool of Bowie; one sister, Bobbie Nell Miller and husband Marvin of Bowie; two nieces; and one nephew; six great-nieces and great-nephews; and a dear friend of five years, William Hood.

Frances Wynema Bicsak...
Frances Wynema Bicsak, age 81, of Nocona, TX passed away February 7, 2005 in Nocona, TX.
Mrs. Bicsak was born October 1, 1923 in Spanish Fort, TX to John and Sarah Collis Martin. She married William Bicsak August 1, 1944 in Fort Worth, TX. She was a nurses aide and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bicsak were held Wednesday, February 10, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Lamoin Champ and Tommy Lamascus officiating. Interment was at Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, William M. Bicsak, Mount Clements, MI and David J. Bicsak and wife, Jan, Nocona, TX; and three grandchildren.
Active Bearers included: Jim Goolsby, Jerry Goolsby, Joseph Bicsak, Keith Bicsak and Bobby
McQuairt.

James “Jimmy” Monroe Grove...
James “Jimmy” Monroe Grove, age 61, of TK Ranch in Bowie, TX passed away February 5, 2005 at Bellmire Healthcare Facility in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Grove was born August 11, 1943 in Gladewater, TX. He was a
Christian of the Methodist denomination who attended the First Baptist Church in Sunset, TX.
Memorial services for Mr. Groves were held Monday, February 7, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the TK Ranch in Bowie, TX. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, TX.
Surviving relatives include: 2 brothers, Bert Groves and his wife, Lois Ann, Golden, CO and Grant Groves and his wife Robbin, DeQueen, AR; six nieces and nephews and their seventeen children; and friends of the TK Ranch family.

Glenn E. Summers...
Glenn E. Summers, 63, a lifetime resident of Bowie, TX, passed away on January 30, 2005 at United Regional Healthcare System in Wichita Falls, TX.
He was born September 6, 1941 in Bowie. On July 11, 1959, he married Verta Stockard at Southside Baptist Church in Bowie. He was an assembly line worker for Lockheed Martin. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Bowie and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: his wife, Verta Summers of Bowie, TX; two sons, Steven Glenn Summers and wife Lori of Louisiana, MO and David Neil Summers & wife Patty of Bowie, TX; one daughter, Dee Dee Geisinger & husband Chuck of Wichita Falls, TX; two sisters, Wanda Sue Wheelis of Alvord, TX and Shirley Neth of Rumph, NV; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Summers.
Funeral services was Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Bowie with Rev. Eddie Johnson and Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Neil Summers II, Chadlee Glenn Summers, James Earl Dominy, Gaylynn Wayne Whellis, Henry “Butch” Neth, Jeremy Wade Brown, & Jases Ryan Brown.
Billy A. “Red” Price...
Aledo - Billy Price, 71, a retired production engineer, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005 at a local hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Price was born Feb. 2, 1934 in Fort Worth, TX and graduated from North Side High School. He worked for General Dynamics-Lockheed Martin for 35 years before retiring in 1993. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Price was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending his retirement years working on his ranch in Montague.
Funeral services were Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in Greenwood Garden Chapel. Graveside service was at 2:00 p.m. in Union Cemetery, Montague County, TX. Greenwood Funeral Home directed the services.
Survivors include: his wife, Patty Price; daughter, Donna Wohl and husband Mark; daughter-in-law, Sherri Price; grandchildren, Natalea Mixon, Jonathan Austin, Billy Jake Price and Sherese Price; sisters, Gay Whitfield and Susan Blassingame; one brother, Kenneth Price; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maudie and Bonnie Price and son, Billy Reese Price.
Kayla Dawn Duncan...
Miss Kayla Dawn Duncan, 20, of Nocona, TX, passed away on February 2, 2005.
She was born June 12, 1984 in Sherman, TX to Ruben Don and Bobbie Dawn Smith Duncan. Kayla was working at Gibbs Pharmacy, but had quit to attend college. She was a 2002 graduate of Prairie Valley School where she was involved in basketball, volleyball, tennis and golf, along with FHA and 4-H. She was a member of the Montague Holiness Church.
Survivors include: her mother, Bobbie Duncan of Nocona, TX; one sister, Kim Duncan of Nocona, TX; three brothers, Tim & wife Laura Duncan and Greg & wife Brandy Duncan, all of Bowie, and Jerry Don Duncan of Nocona, TX; grandmother, Mary Smith of Nocoa, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Don Duncan, grandparents Floyd & Iva Duncan and grandfather Bob Smith.
Funeral services for Miss Duncan were Saturday, February 5th, 2005 at 2:00 p.m at the Abundant Life Church in Nocona with Rev. Vernon Shaw officiating. Burial followed in the Montague Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tim Tompkins, J.J. Pigg, Jonathon Haralson, Matt Langford, Amy Warton, Byron Sims, Nick Eischied and Amber Shaw.
Honorary pallbearers were Randy Glass (in Iraq serving our country), Christi Snow, Elizabeth Goldsmith, Skeeter Salmon, Dusty Roof and Abe
Spilman.
