Agnes Hess, age 91 of Muenster, TX passed
February 4th in Muenster, TX.
Mrs. Hess was born November 9, 1914 in Muenster to
August and Elizabeth Derichsweiler Knabe. She attended school at
Sacred Heart and was a lifetime resident of Muenster. She married
Albert Hess on February 22, 1938 in Sacred Heart Church. She lived in
and around Muenster, TX all her life.
Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Hess was held
Tuesday, February 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in
Muenster with Rev. John Ohner, O.S.A. celebrating. Burial followed in
Sacred Heart Cemetery. Services are directed by McCoy Funeral Home of
Muenster, TX.
Survivors include two daughters, Angeline Yosten of
Greenville, TX and Florence Stockard of Gainesville, TX; eight sons,
Leo, Pat, Earl, Virgil, Gilbert, Melvin, Tim and Clarence Hess, all of
Muenster, TX; two sisters, Marcella Hellinger of Gainesville, TX and
Kate Wilson, Muenster, TX; thirty-four grandchildren; and thirty-two
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Justin
Hess on April 29, 1983; her parents; five sisters, Annie Knabe, Leona
Richardson, Christine Hellinger, Marie Herron and Hilda Reiter; and
six brothers, Ben, William, Robert, Joe, Albert and Lawrence Knabe.
Pallbearers were: Brian Hess, Stuart Hess, Nathan Hess,
Mark Yosten, Darrin Hess, Justin Hess, Brandon Stockard and Chad Hess.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Darlene Williams and
Jesse Hess.
Fern W. House...
Fern W. House, age 89 of Nocona, TX
passed away February 4, 2006 in Nocona, TX.
Mrs. House was born April 12, 1916 in Quincy, IL to
Owen G. and Martha Wilson Smith. She was a member of the Nocona Hills
Ladies Association, was a Rebecca, and a musician for the state of
Texas. She had a degree from a Bible College and was a Dr. of
Reflexology. She had worked in the air plane factory during WWII and
later in a logger plant.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Judy Hathorn,
Nocona, TX; one son, Keith O. Maynard, Nocona, TX; five grandchildren;
seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister,
Betty Applegate, Saint Jo, TX; and two brothers, Jack Smith IL and
Paul Ray Smith, CA.
Laverne Parker...
Laverne Parker, age 77, of Fort Worth, TX passed
away February 1, 2006 in North Richland Hills, TX.
Laverne was born September 14, 1928 in Bowie, TX to
Luther B. and Lovie Bess Parker. She was of the Baptist faith.
Cemetery services were held Saturday, February 4, 2006
at 10:00 a.m. at the Hopewell Cemetery with Rev. John Robles
officiating under the direction of the Heritage Family Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two sisters, Glenna Winn,
Watauga, TX and Belva Gay Stephens, Duncan, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther B. and
Lovie Bess Parker; and two sisters, Alma Leet and Una West.
Zelda Mae Case...
Zelda Mae Case, 55, passed away Sunday, February 5,
2006 in Bowie, TX.
She was born September 10, 1950 in Clovis, NM to Ray
and Clarine (York) Smith. She graduated from Waco High School in 1966
and attended Waco School of Cosmetology. Zelda worked at numerous
beauty shops in Waco and was known as a generous and thoughtful
person. She loved writing poetry, crafts and fishing.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the
Drawing Room of the White Family Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Cox
officiating, under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.
Zelda is survived by: one brother, Jim Smith and wife,
Doris of Blue Springs, MO; two sisters, Nancy Fry and Lester Stump of
Bowie, TX; Lois Barnard and husband, Mike of Axtell, TX (Waco);
numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one
brother, Barney Smith.

Mary Fay Brawner...
Mary Fay Brawnder, age 88, of Saint Jo,
TX passed away Sunday, February 5, 2006 in Wichita Falls, TX.
Mrs. Brawner was born December 9, 1917 in the Illinois
Bend area to the late Dyke and Betty Pearl Hodges Williams. She
attended schools in Illinois Bend and in Corinth. Fay married John G.
Brawner on March 9, 1935 in Marietta, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker
and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Saint Jo.
Funeral services for Mary Fay Brawner were held
Wednesday, February 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Missionary Baptist
Church in Saint Jo with Rev. Ricky Kerr officiating. Burial followed
in Illinois Bend Cemetery in Montague County. Services are directed by
McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo.
Survivors include: two daughters, Rena Brunett, Bryan,
TX and Mary Nell Mallon, Fort Worth, TX; two sons, Joe Brawner and
Marion “Cotton” Brawner, both of Saint Jo, TX; one sister, Lola Webb
of Eastland, TX; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and
three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are: her husband John G. Brawner on November
22, 1980; her parents; a sister, Geneva Neal; and one brother, Hugh
Williams.
Pallbearers included: B.J. and Justin Brawner, Cody
Kneupper, Joseph Hennigan, Eddy Joe Reeves and Frank Tuggle.

Pablo Vega, age 87, of Nocona, TX passed
away January 30, 2006 in Nocona, TX.
Mr. Vega was born May 10, 1918 in San Pedro, Mexico to
Luciano Vega and Anselma Sliva. He married Leonor Vega.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 2, 2006
at 2:00 p.m.at the Scott-Morris Chapel with Antonio Leyva officiating.
Surviving relatives include: his children, Virginia
Contreas, Bowie, TX, Rosa Vega, Mexico, Janie Hernandez, Nocona, TX,
Ruperto, Del Rio, TX, Anselmo Vega, Del Rio, TX, Ray Vega, Del Rio, TX
and Pablo Vega, Jr., Del Rio, TX; forty eight grandchildren; and fifty
eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luciano Vega
and Anselma Silva and his wife, Leonor Vega.
Bob Paul Hathorn...
Bob Paul Hathorn, age 83 of Nocona, TX
passed away February 4, 2006 in the Nocona General Hospital in Nocona,
TX.
Mr. Hathorn was born September 30, 1922 in Wichita
Falls, TX to Bob Paul and Ethel Mae Robinson Hathorn. He married Judy
Maynard on January 10, 2000.He was a decorated Marine and served in
two wars serving in the South Pacific campaigns in World War II and in
Korea. After the Marines he primarily worked as an Insurance Adjuster
in the Southwestern United States, until he retired in 1976. He lived
in Nocona for the past twenty-six years, much of that time in Nocona
Hills.
Cemetery services were held Sunday, February 5, 2006 at
3:00 p.m. at the Shady Grove Cemetery, under the direction of
Scott-Morris Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held at a later
date.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Judy Hathorn,
Nocona, TX; two sons, Jim Bob Hathorn, Forestburg, TX and Marty
Hathorn, Jacksboro, TX; one daughter, Annitta Urice, Granbury, TX; one
step son, Monty Hathorn, Nocona, TX; five grandchildren; and one great
grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Ethel
Hathorn; his first wife, Wilma Hathorn; one daughter, Bobbette Kimbell;
and one grandson, Paul (Buzz) Hathorn.

Ricky Bishop...
Ricky Bishop, age 53 of Nocona, TX passed away
February 5, 2006 in Wichita Falls, TX.
Mr. Bishop was born September 27, 1952 in Electra, TX
to Lonnie and Geraldine Rice Bishop. He married Wanda Trayler and
worked as a limo driver for several years. He then worked for Donnie
Fenglio at H20.
Funeral services for Mr. Bishop were held Thursday,
February 9, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dave
Woodbury officiating. Interment was at the Nocona Cemetery under the
direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Wanda Bishop,
Nocona, TX; one son, Kyle Bishop, Nocona, TX; mother & father in law,
Paul & Betty Trayler, Forestburg, TX; and several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Geraldine Rice
Bishop.

Paul Raymond Zahn...
Paul Raymond Zahn, 75, of Houston, TX, an
honorable and faithful man of high morals and principles, took his
last breath on this earth and said hello to his Maker of February 2,
2006.
Paul was born February 19, 1930 in Montague, TX to
Lonnie Roy “Jack” and Alice Odessa Cagle Zahn. Paul served as Lance
Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was employed by Armco Steel for
28 years and retired in 1985 as an Inspector in the Quality Control
Department. Those who knew him will remember a dependable man of high
integrity, a man who stood by his word. Paul was a loving husband and
devoted father. He met the love of his life, Bessie Louise Eaker and
they married on July 10, 1954. Paul found great joy and love in his
five grandchildren who adored him.
Funeral services were Sunday, February 5, 2006 at 2:00
p.m. in the Drawing Room of the White Family Funeral Home with Sunny
Cole officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the White
Family Funeral Home.
Burial followed at the Tage Cemetery.
Paul is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Louise Zahn;
three children, Sharon Hays and husband, Steven; Paul Zahn II of
Pearland, TX; and Dudley DeWayne “Skip” Zahn and wife, Maureen of
Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Alyssa Michele Hays, Christina
Elizabeth Hays, Zachary Carl Zahn, Alexandra Leigh Hays and Nathan
Jack Zahn; sister, Billie Zahn Rolls and husband, L.C. of Sunset, TX;
half sister, Jean Huddleston O’Neal of Big Springs, TX; aunts, Faye
Meyer of Bowie, TX; Pauline Johnson of Nocona, TX and Roxie “Sis” Zahn
and her late husband, Bunk of Rockport, TX; and Johnnie Cagle White of
Colleyville, TX; nieces, Sheila Sanders, Sherry Hall, Alisha Pounds;
and one nephew, Kelly O’Neal; and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by :his father, L.R. “Jack”
Zahn; mother, Alice Odessa Cagle Zahn Huddleston; stepfather, Virgle
Woodrow Huddleston; brother, Roy Wayne Zahn; grandparents, Carl and
Nettie Zahn and John and Estle Cagle.
