Evonne Estabelle Haney...
     Evonne Estabelle Haney, 76, passed away July 4, 2005 at URHCS in Wichita, Falls, TX.
Mrs. Haney was born March 18, 1929 to George and Rean Marter Stafford. On September 23, 1980 she married Charles Haney. She was a homemaker and a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. She lived with MS for thirty years.
     Funeral services were Thursday, July 7, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Scott-Morris Funeral Home in Nocona. Burial followed in Nocona Cemetery.
     Survivors include: her husband, Charles Haney of Nocona, TX; one daughter, Brenda Winter of Nocona, TX and Robert Winter of Georgetown, TX; three sisters; one brother; and three grandsons.
     She was preceded in death by five siblings, her parents, one daughter, and her first husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at North Central Texas Chapter, 4086 Sandshell Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76137.

 

Pearl Yancey Tarver...
      Pearl Yancey Tarver, 98, a resident of Bowie, TX since 1943, passed away July 6, 2005 in the Bowie Nursing Center.
     Mrs. Tarver was born April 28, 1907 in Clark County, AR to Walter Monroe and Mary Elizabeth Walker Yancey. On November 9, 1927 she married William Loyd Tarver in Fort Worth, TX. Mrs. Tarver was a realtor. She also was a substitute teacher and a member of First United Methodist Church in Bowie.
     Services were Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Family Funeral Home in Bowie with her grandson, Rev. Tom Tarver, pastor of Peace United Methodist Church in Richland Center, Wisconsin officiating. Rev. Sara Hardaway, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Bowie assisted. Heritage Family Funeral Home of Bowie (formerly Burgess Fry Owens Brumley Funeral Home) directed the service.
     Interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery, Bowie, TX.
     Mrs. Tarver is survived by: one son, Joe Tarver and his wife Mary Rose of Seguin, TX; three daughters, Naomi Swinson and her husband Charles of Kingswood, TX, Evelyn Miller and her husband Jack of Denton, TX and Mary Jeffries and her husband Pat of Wichita Falls, TX; fourteen grandchildren, Tom Tarver, Wayne Tarver, Roger Tarver, Chris Jones, Cynde Kunetka, Bill Tarver, Susan Baker, David Swinson, Jay Miller, Scot Miller, Marcus Miller, Dana Robie, Stephen Jeffries and Alan Jeffries; several great and great-great grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Loyd Tarver in March, 1980.

Glen Dennis Hawkins...
     Glen Dennis Hawkins, 86, of Nocona, TX, passed away July 9, 2005 in the Nocona General Hospital.
     He was born July 14, 1918 in Nocona to William and Mae Hodges Hawkins. On April 16, 1982 he married Burtris O’Neal (Spivey) in Marrietta, OK. He worked for Steward and Stevenson of Houston, TX for thirty years. He was a member of Central Christian Church and the Nocona Masonic Lodge #753 AF & AM.
     Funeral services were Monday, July 11, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. at Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Hamilton officiating. Burial followed in Nocona Cemetery. Jerry Woods Funeral Home of Nocona directed the service.
     Survivors include: his wife, Burtris Hawkins; one son, Steve Spivey of Fort Worth, TX; and two grandchildren.
     Pallbearers were Lynn Adams, Bob Harper, Jerry O’Neal, Ricky O’Neal, Bob Roberts, Thomas Scruggs and Larry Veale. Honorary pallbearers were O.C. Harper and Ken Hickman.

 

William Ardell Robertson...
    
William Ardell Robertson, age 84 of Bowie, TX passed away June 28, 2005 in Dallas, TX.
     Mr. Robertson was born December 3, 1920 in Weinert, TX to William and Claudia Brown Robertson. He married Mary Katherine Hammons on November 5, 1944 in Littlefield, TX. He served his country during World War II in the Coast Guard and was a Commander for the VFW Post #8789 and the American Legion Post #252.
     Funeral Services for Mr. Robertson were held 10:00 a.m. Friday at First Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Cox officiating under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home.
     Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Darla St John, Runaway Bay, TX; two sons, Mike Robertson and Gregg Robertson, both of Bowie, TX; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Dencil Robertson, Chehalis, WA and Avis Robertson, Nocona, TX; one sister, Janice Queener, Hazel Park, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Jimmy D. Hill...
     JImmy D. Hill, 48, passed away Monday, July 4, 2005 in Bowie, TX.
     Mr. Hill was born August 6, 1956 in Dallas, TX to E.D. and Helen (Walters) Hill. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics and singing music.
     Graveside services were Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.
     Survivors include: two daughters, Cearra Nicole Hill and Tracy Castleberry, both of Arlington, TX.

 

Doyle Wade McClennen...
     Doyle Wade McClennen, 80, passed away July 7, 2005.
     He was born December 28, 1924 near Wellington, TX during the Great Depression. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946. In 1947 he married his sweetheart, Bobbie Daniel. He received his degree in Petroleum Engineering and had a forty year career in the oil industry with three different companies. He attended Willow Meadoes Baptist Church in Houston, TX and First Baptist Church in Granbury, TX.
     Funeral services were Sunday, July 10, 2005 at 22:30 p.m. at Willow Meadows Baptist Church.
Graveside services were Tuesday at noon at Nocona Cemetery with Rev. Lamoin Champ officiating. Jerry Woods Funeral Home of Nocona directed the service.
     Survivors include: his wife Bobbie; four children, Leah, Mark, Scott and Kelly and their spouses; six grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother; and many friends and extended family.

Obeta Vanlandingham...
    
Obeta Vanlandingham, 85, of Saint Jo, TX passed away Sunday, July 3, 2005 in Bowie, TX.
     Mrs. Vanlandingham was born April 22, 1920 in Montague, TX to the late Jim and Cora Bell Roan Grimes. On July 7, 1939 she married Rossie Lee Vanlandingham. He preceded her in death June 25, 1956. She attended South Side Baptist Church in Bowie. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many.
     Funeral services were Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at McCoy Funeral Chapel in Saint Jo, TX. A graveside service followed at 4:00 p.m. at Fairmont Cemetery, Hollis, OK with Rev. Keith Rogers officiating. McCoy Funeral Home directed the service.
     Survivors include: daughters Sandra Baker of Saint Jo, TX, Darla Baker of Arlington, TX, and Teresa Perkins of Fort Worth, TX; one sister,Wanda Caballero of Alameda, CA; brothers Doyle Grimes of Amarillo, TX, Marrion Grimes of Wheeler, TX, Clell Grimes of Santa Clara, CA and Kenneth Grimes of Wichita Falls, TX; eleven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, two sons, and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Brent Callan, Lynn Vanlandingham, Coy Baker, Toby Ratliff, Vance Briley and Eric Martin.
