Earl James Fisher...
Earl James Fisher, 86, of Muenster, TX,
passed away July 22, 2005 in Gainesville, TX.
He was born October 24, 1918 in Muenster to Joseph
Fisher, Sr. and Emma Pulte Fisher. Mr. Fisher served in the U.S. Navy
during WWII. During his time in service, he married Velma Frances Evers
on February 17, 1943 in Umbarger, TX. He enjoyed a long successful
career in banking, retiring in 1997. He served as mayor of Muenster from
1963-1970 and was a member of the Muenster VFD for thirty-one years and
was a lifetime member of the local VFW.
Mass of Christian burial was Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at
10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Muenster with Rev. John Ohner,
O.S.A. officiating. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery. McCoy
Funeral Home of Muenster directed the service. Survivors include: his
wife Velma of Muenster, TX; five daughters; four sons; one sister; and
one brother.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; one daughter; four
sisters; and five brothers.
Pallbearers were Edward Pick, Steve Taylor, Butch Fisher, Mike Pagel and
Herbie Fisher.
Clora Ellen Fortner-Ward...
Clora Ellen Fortner-Ward, 95, of Saint Jo,
TX passed away July 22, 2005 in Nocona, TX.
She was born November 15, 1909 in Heber Springs, AR to
John and Sarah Beatrice (Crosby) Fortner. On December 28, 1927 she
married Roy James Ward in Heber Springs. She dearly love her family and
was a good friend to all.
Graveside services for Mrs. Ward were Sunday, July 24,
2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo with C.E.
Cole officiating. McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo directed the service.
Survivors include: one daughter, Loretta Parmer of
Saint Jo, TX; two granddaughters; two grandsons; eleven great
grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband;
one daughter; two brothers; one sister; and two brothers
Patricia Duff...
Patricia Duff, 75, of Nocona, TX, passed away July
23, 2005 at Hospice in Wichita Falls, TX.
She was born August 18, 1930 in Ringgold, TX to Bennie
and Lila Allen Duff. She was a teacher in Gold-Burg and a member of
Ringgold Methodist Church.
A private family service was held under the direction
of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Survivors include: sisters Barbara Adams and Cynthia Franklin, both of
Ringgold, TX; one brother, Bennie Duff of Ringgold, TX; and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Jose Gonzalez, infant, passed away July 20,
2005 in the Nocona Hospital, Nocona, TX.
He was born July 20, 2005 to Maximiliano Gonzalez and
Maria E. Orosco Gonzalez of Nocona.
Graveside services were Friday, July 22, 2005 at 10:30
a.m. in Nocona Cemetery with Deacon Lauro Huerta officiating. Jerry
Woods Funeral Home directed the service.
Survivors include: his parents, Maximiliano and Maria
Gonzalez of Nocona, TX; grandmother Nicolusa Guzman; four sisters; and
one brother.
Jean Wells Daywalt...
Jean Wells Daywalt, 73 years of age, passed
away July 18, 2005 in North Carolina.
Mrs. Daywalt was born July 14, 1932 in Bowie, TX to J.V.
and Louella Wells. She lived in Dallas, TX for many years and was
retired from Paramount Pictures.
A private family burial will be at Salona Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Susan
Romano, Statesville, NC, one son, Michael Daywalt, Stafford, VA; six
grandchildren; one sister, Jo Airington; and several nieces, nephews,
great nieces and great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, J.V. and
Louella Wells and her husband, William Daywalt.
Ruth Ester Wettengel Haralson...
Ruth Ester Wettengel Haralson, age 92 of
Austin, TX passed away July 21, 2005 at the Summit at Westlake in
Austin, TX.
Mrs. Haralson was born June 30, 1913 in Elgin, OK to
Henry Philip and Myrtle Mae Little Wettengel. She married James Henry
Haralson on May 25, 1935 and they settled in Anarene. They later lived
in Nocona and Wichita Falls before settling in Austin. She was a
homemaker and active in the Methodist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Haralson were held Saturday,
July 23, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Nocona, TX with
Rev. Charles McClure officiating. Interment was at the Nocona Cemetery
under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her children, Suszanne and
Charles McClure, Fort Worth, TX; Joe and Irene Haralson, Austin, TX and
Kathy and Ahmet Yayboke, Anakara, Turkey; seven grandchildren; and
thirteen great grandchildren.
Charles Lee Johnson...
Charles Lee Johnson, 68, of Nocona, TX,
passed away on July 19, 2005 in Nocona.
He was born June 18, 1937 in Duncan, OK to Herman Lee
and Bertha Monshouser Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a truck driver.
Graveside services were Thursday, July 21, 2005 at
10:00 a.m. at Shady Grove Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Lamascus officiating.
Scott-Morris Funeral Home of Nocona directed the service.
Survivors include: one child, Terry Johnson of Alvin,
TX; and one sister, Ruth Rozzell of Walters, OK.
