Doris Lorine Smith Pribble...
Doris Lorine Smith Pribble, age 93, of
Nocona, TX passed away Monday, May 30, 2005 in the Bowie Memorial
Hospital in Bowie, TX.
Mrs. Pribble was born May 8, 1912 in Ryan, OK to John
Davis and Ella M. Smart Smith. She married Bill Pribble and was a
teacher and a principal for forty years with 28 of those years in the
Nocona School District. She taught at several small communities in
Oklahoma including Oscar, Terral, Oklaunion and Fleetwood. She was a
member of the First Baptist Church in Nocona and the Retired Teachers
Association. She was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award in 1969 by
the city of Nocona.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pribble were held Wednesday,
June 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Nocona with
Rev. Jerry Paul Smith officiating. Interment was at the Nocona Cemetery
under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.
Survivors include several cousins and a host of
friends.
Jim Gant...
Graveside services for Jim Gant, 70, of
Longview, TX were at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2005 at Newport Cemetery,
Bowie, TX with Timmy Dorman officiating. Burial was under the direction
of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mr. Gant passed away Friday, May 20, 2005 at his
residence.
He was born June 21, 1934 in Jack County, Texas to
Norris and Virginia Tipton Gant and had been a resident of Longview
since 1959, moving from Bowie, Texas. In his early years, he was a
“Bronc Buster” and as a hobby, broke horses for riding. He was a former
employee of the Continental Can Co. in Longview and retired from The Oil
Gear Co. as a machinist. An avid gun collector, Jim was a member of the
National Rifle Association and the East Texas Pistol and Rifle
Association. In years past, Jim was a race car enthusiast and enjoyed
drag racing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was recognized as a
qualified fire arm expert. Jim was a member of the Mobberly Baptist
Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 49
years, Melba Dorman Gant of Longview, TX; aunt Mary Tipton of
Shreveport; cousin Ray Tipton of Shreveport and uncles R.E. Gant of Iowa
Park, TX and Kenneth Gant of Wichita Falls, TX.

Henry Frank Hacker, 65, passed away on
Tuesday, May 24, 2005 in a Dallas, TX.
Mr. Hacker was born October 7, 1939 in Muenster, TX to
Andrew and Annie Sicking Hacker. He was thirty-five year resident of
Myra, TX. He, along with his brothers, were owners/operators of an
oil-field work-over rig company for thirty-eight years. He was always
there as a friend and helper to anyone in need.
Mass of Christian Burial was set for 10:00 a.m.
Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in Muenster, TX with Rev. John Ohner,
O.S.A. officiating. McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster directed the service.
Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Survivors include: two daughters, Patricia “Trish”
Hendricks of Myra and Darlene Tischler of Whitesboro, TX; two sons,
David and Curtis Hacker, both of Myra, TX; ten grandchildren; and three
great grandchildren; one sister; and seven brothers.
Pallbearers were Cris Hess, Jimmy, Charles, Patrick and
Allen Hacker and Chris Holder.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Trudy Ann Mosher...
Trudy Ann Mosher, 52, passed away Monday,
May 23, 2005 in Wichita Falls, TX.
Ms. Mosher was born November 18, 1952 in Big Springs,
TX to Jimmy Phariss and Josie (Everett) Sanders. She worked as a nurses
aide. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Memorial services were Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 2:00
p.m. at Ebenezer Pentecostal Church with Ronnie Tucker officiating.
White Family Funeral Home directed the service.
Survivors include: her son, Lee Phariss of Venus;
daughter, Teresa Mendoza of Bowie, TX; daughter Misty Ezell of Bowie,
TX; mother Josie Sanders of Abilene, TX; sister, Judy Hubbard of Bowie,
TX; two brothers, Steve Phariss of Bowie, TX and Jeff Sanders of
Abilene, TX; and ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her father, James Derrell
Sanders; and grandparents, James Floyd and Nora Marie Everett.
Earl Yarbro...
Earl Yarbro, 76, of Bowie, TX passed away
Sunday, May 28, 2005 in Bowie.
Mr. Yarbro was born October 26, 1928 in Caddo, TX to
Gus and Anna (Phillips) Yarbro. He married JoAnn Rucktashel on September
30, 1953 in Gainesville, TX. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Yarbro
owned and operated Bell Manufacturing, a radiator manufacturing company,
since 1960. He served as Chamber of Commerce President in 1969, was a
former Rotarian, Third Degree Mason and a member of First Baptist
Church. Earl enjoyed singing in the church choir, picking his steel
guitar and ranching.
A graveside service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday
at Eaglepoint Cemetery with Mike Henson and Dick Hennings officiating. A
memorial service was at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of
Bowie. White Family Funeral Home directed the services.
Survivors include: his wife of fifty-one years, JoAnn
Yarbro of Bowie, TX; three sons, Bill Yarbro and his wife Cathy, Dean
Yarbro and Kyle Yarbro, all of Bowie, TX; one brother, Joe Yarbro and
his wife Marjorie of Waco, TX; sister, Anna May of Kerrville, TX; two
grandchildren, Mac Yarbro and Jay Yarbro of Bowie, TX; and wonderful
nieces and nephews.
Sarah Jo Mock Coleman...
Sarah Jo Mock Coleman, 87, of Nocona, TX,
passed away May 23, 2005 in Nocona.
She was born December 23, 1917 in Wood County, TX to
Marvin D. and Leila Green Horton. On June 16, 1945 she married Walter
Mock in Mineral Wells, TX. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1988. On
June 6, 1992 she married Raymond Coleman in Nocona, TX. He preceded her
in death. Mrs. Coleman was retired from Civil Service. She was a member
of the Methodist Church, member of UMW, Alter Guild, Toastmistress and
Methodist Church Secretary.
Funeral services for Mrs. Coleman wre Wednesday, May
25, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Nocona
with Rev. Larry Kruger officiating.
Burial was Thursday, May 26, 2005 at 1:45 p.m. at Fort Sam
Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX. Jerry Woods Funeral Home of
Nocona directed the services.
Survivors include: two daughters, Susie Russell of
Nocona and Jan Mullen of Tulsa, OK; three sisters; one brother; four
grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, six
brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
Marguerite I. Cittadino...
Marguerite I. Cittadino, 89, of Long
Branch, NJ, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the St. Barnabas
Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Long Branch. She had worked as a
seamstress until retiring. Mrs. Cittadino was a member of the ILGWU and
a communicant of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long
Branch. Born in Idaho, she was a lifelong resident of Long Branch. She
was predeceased by her husband, Frank J. Cittadino on May 26, 2000 and
also predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Joseph Calabretta of Long
Branch, Mary Salvetti of Poughkeepsie, NY (formerly of Long Branch),
Auggie Calabretta of Syracuse NY, and Michael Calabretta and Irene
Juliano, both of Long Branch, NJ.
Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law,
Joanne Patterson of Long Branch and Frances Picard and her husband Tom
of Nocona, TX; one brother, Albert Calabretta of Ocala, FL; four
grandchildren and their spouses, Peggy DeMoss and her husband Jerry of
Bowie, TX, Marie Rice and her husband Phil, Shari Hilton and her husband
Wayne and Paul Patterson; seven great grandchildren; two great-great
grandchildren; and her cat CeCe.
A funeral ceremony was held at The Flock Funeral Home,
243 Broadway, Long Branch on Friday, May 27, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. Committal
services were Saturday, May 28 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodbine Cemetery,
Oceanport, NJ followed by burial.

Zelma Mae Burleson...
Zelma Mae Burleson, 100, passed away May
24, 2005 in Bowie Nursing Center, Bowie, TX.
She was born November 22, 1904 in Sivells Bend, TX. On
July 30, 1923 she married John R. Burleson in Montague, TX. She was a
homemaker and a resident of Bowie since 1992.
Graveside services for Mrs. Burleson were Friday, May
27, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in Ringgold Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Fox, Jr.
officiating. Fry Funeral Home of Bowie directed the service.
Survivors include: two sons, Bill Burleson of Bellevue,
TX and Tommy Burleson of Bowie, TX; one daughter, Joyce Irene Fox of
Wichita Falls, TX; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and
eleven great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Harrison, Bryan Fox, Tony Fox,
David Kittrell, Angela Perry and Kyle Perry.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, John R.
Burleson in 1979.
