Ruth Parr...
     Ruth Parr, age 93 of Nocona, TX passed away March 17, 2005 in the Nocona General Hospital in Nocona, TX.
     Mrs. Parr was born June 5, 1911 in Long Branch Community, TX to Walter and Gertrude Gann Gibson. She married James “Marvin” Parr. She was a member of the First United Church in Nocona where she was eager to volunteer to serve in her church. She had worked for Justin from 1928 - 1930. She was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. 
     Funeral services for Mrs. Parr were held Sunday, March 20, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Kruger and Rev. Shelly McNew officiating.
Interment was at Mallard Cemetery in the Mallard Community under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.
     Surviving relatives include: her children, Virginia Edwards, Nocona, TX; Robert and wife, Fannie Parr, Bowie, TX, and Weldon and wife, Pat Parr Nocona, TX; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one brother, Reece Gibson, Belcher; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Hettie Martin Goin...
     Hettie Martin Goin, age 95 of Nocona, TX passed away March 19, 2005 at the Nocona General Hospital in Nocona, TX.
     Mrs. Goin was born August 22, 1911 to Robert E. Lee and Viola Scott Hutchinson. She married Will Martin and after his death in 1961 married Jim Goin. She worked for Nocona Leather Goods for fourteen eyars. She was a hairdresser and she worked for Lipscomb’s Chevrolet as a driver. She was a member of the Illinois Bend Methodist Church. 
     Funeral services for Mrs. Goin were held Monday, March 21, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Scott-Morris Chapel. Interment was at the Nocona Cemetery. 
     Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Dorothy Baumwart, Nocona, TX, Cleo Shofner, Carrollton, TX; one son, Jim Martin, Iowa Park, TX; six grandchildren; two grean grandchidlren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Will Martin in 1961 and her second husband, Jim Goin in 2001.
   

 

Joyce Loretta Gibson...
    
Joyce Loretta Gibson, age 59 of Wichita Falls, TX passed away March 20, 2005 in Wichita Falls, TX.
     Mrs. Gibson was born September 19, 1945 in Vernon, TX to Loren Eugene and Helen McCoy Hopkins. She married Mike Gibson on May 14, 1965 in Wichita Falls, TX. She was a graduate of Draughons Business College in Wichita Falls, TX and was a homemaker. 
     Graveside services for Mrs. Gibson were held March 25, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nocona Cemetery with Rev. Jack McBride officiating. Services under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
     Surviving relatives include: her husband, Mike Gibson, Wichita Falls, TX; three sons, Michael Dale Gibson, Jr. Denver, CO, Marshall Dan Gibson, Wichita Falls, TX, and Matthew Don Gibson, Wichita Falls, TX; one daughter, Michelle Delaine Gibson, Wichita Falls, TX; three grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Kaufman, Chillicothe, TX; three brothers, Loren D. Hopkins, Halton City, TX, Ricki Linn Hopkins, Odell, TX and Stacey Brock, Chillicothe, TX. She was preceded in death by one son, Mark Douglas Gibson in 1968.

 

Ronnie R. Hayes...
    
Ronnie R. Hayes, 48, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., died Friday, March 18, 2005 at his residence.
     He was born March 30, 1956, in Odessa, Texas. He served in the United States Marine Corps. where he achieved the rank of sergeant. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and during his service received the Purple Heart. He served in the reserves and the National Guard. Hayes was a resident of Montague County for approximately 20 years. He was a registered nurse.
     He is survived by his wife, Dianne Hayes of Hot Springs Village; three children, Brad Hayes of Bowie, Texas and Cori and Rashonda Hayes of Forestburg, Texas; two brothers, Michael Hayes of Duncan, Okla., and Gary Hayes, Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Linda Chockpoyah of Walters, Okla., Kathy Moss of Duncan, Okla., and Barbara Johnston, of Grandbury, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Grady B. Hayes and Charlene (Alexander) Hayes.
     Services were held Wednesday March 23, 2005 at 1 p.m. in Caruth Dale Funeral Home chapel at Hot Springs Village, Ark.
     A memorial service will be held on Thursday March 24, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Forestburg Baptist Church at Forestburg, Texas. Services will be led by Rev. Stewart Holloway.

Aubrey Dean (Byas) Davis...
    
Aubrey Dean (Byas), age 85 of North Richland Hills, TX passed away March 18, 2005 in the Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX. 
     She was born September 25, 1919 in Shannon, TX. She was a buyer and sales coordinator for a dress shop. She worked at Oneida Paper in Fort Worth and General Dynamics before going to work at Fannie Ragland’s Dress Shop where she worked for thirty years in sales and did all the professional alterations for the business.
     Funeral services for Mrs. Davis were held Monday, March 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fry Funeral Home Chapel in Bowie, TX with Jackie Byas officiating.
     Interment was held at Tage Cemetery in Bowie, TX under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Joe W. Allgood and his wife, Tanya, North Richland Hills, TX; one daughter, Patricia Sculley and her husband, Roy, North Richland Hills, TX; one sister, Doris Dye and her husband Jack, Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren; Vickie Roma and her husband, Mike, Karen Ashenfelter and her husband, Mike, Cindy Anderson and her husband, Randy, Julie Cox and her husband, Rickey and Cheri Thompson and her husband, Robert; nine great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Weldon B. Byas, Bowie, TX and D.D. Byas, Wichita Falls, TX; and one sister, Fern Little, Weatherford, TX.
Pallbearers included: Scott D. Haag, Jason W. Horne, Brent Shull, Dustin D. Paschal, Clint Blake, Robby A. Thompson.

 

Robert Loyd Barnett...
     Robert Loyd Barnett, age 79 of Bowie, TX passed away March 16, 2005 in Wichita Falls, TX.
     Mr. Barnett was born October 18, 1925 in Paradise, TX to William Mathison and Rosa Adaline Reed Barnett. He married Wanda Faye on August 22, 1970 in Fort Worth, TX. He was an engineer for United Heat Treating for thirty-five years and a supervisor for seven. He was a General Dynamics supervisor for five years, worked for Bell Helicopter for two years and owned Barnett Fruit and Vegetable Farm for twenty years.
     Funeral services for Mr. Barnett were held Friday, March 18, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Bowie, TX with Clyde Markee officiating. Interment was at Tage Cemetery under the direction of The White Family Funeral Home. 
     Surviving relatives include: his wife of thirty-four years, Wanda Faye Barnett, Bowie, TX; daughters, Nancy Autrey and husband, Thomas, Flower Mound, Cathie Miller and husband, Leonard, Bowie, TX; Roseann Reese and husband, Joe, Irving, TX; step-daughters, Gail Florence, Bowie, TX, Elaine Call and husband Curtis, Stratford, OK, Sheila Cambell and husband Stanley, Winnniwood, OK, stepson, Melvin Florence, Pauls Valley, OK; eight grandsons, seven great grandsons, numerous nieces and nephews; and a wonderful host of friends.
     He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosa Barnett, Sister, Jewel Chapman, Brother, William Lois Barnett, and an infant son, Robert Loyd Barnett, Jr.

 

Kenneth P. Butler...
    
Kenneth P. Butler, age 38, of Houston, TX passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 near Persidio, TX. 
     Mr. Butler was a member of the Concours Owners Group (COG) and was involved with the 4-H Club. 
     He is survived by his wife, Margaret Butler; daughter, Ashley Butler, son, Ryan Butler, Houston, TX; parents, Daniel and Barbara Butler; sister, Diana Howell; brother James Butler; one niece; three nephews, all of Canyon Lake; two great uncles, Jimmy Butler, Bellevue, TX and Brock Lyons, Bowie, TX.
     Funeral services for Mr. Butler were held Friday, March 18, 2005 in the Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel in Humble with Pastor Michael Snow officiating. Interment followed in the Rosewood Memorial Park in Humble.

 

Weldon Leon George...
     Weldon Leon George, 87, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2005 at his residence in Bowie, TX.
     He was born in Flomot, TX on October 10, 1923 to Mack Nelson and Mickey (LaQuey) George. He married Bettye L. Kinnard on March 19, 1946 in Wichita Falls, TX. Mr. Georger owned Super Sav Grocery and Bob’s Ideal Grocery. He was an avid quail and pheasant hunter and enjoyed being outdoors fishing and working with horses.
     Services for Mr. George were Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Cartr Lake Road Church of Christ with David Hall officiating under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home.
Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery with Mr. George’s grandsons serving as casket bearers.
He is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Bettye George of Bowie, TX; sons, Bob George & wife Helen of Bowie, TX and Richard GEorge and wife Chris of Fort Worth, TX; daughter-in-law, Kristi Harney of Henrietta; brother Bill George and wife Helen of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Ginger Kemp and husband Ray of Alabama, Mark Jolly and wife CArolyn of Fort Worth, TX, Jennifer Winter and husband Justin of Haslet, TX, Mike George of Fort Worth, TX, Sheresa Pottorf and husband Dave of Dallas, Cheryl Carney and husband, Mike of Atlanta, GA, Rebecca Maldonado and husband Marty of Altus, OK and Brian Ericson of Denton; and thirteen great grandchildren, Preston, Savannah, Stormy, Ellen, Meredith, Olivia, Derek, Mackenzie, Brandon, Domanie, Kalieb, Kaley and Kinsey.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Mickey George and one son, Jeff George, in 1989.
     Memorials may be made in his name to Hospice of Bowie, TX. 

 

Amarissa Grottie Terral...
     Amarissa Renae Grottie was born May 14, 2003 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Cody and Amanda Williams Grottie. She passed from this life Sunday, March 13, 2005 at the age of 22 months. 
     She is survived by her parents - Amanda and Cody Grottie of Terral; grandparents - Kim Grottie Morris and Mark; one aunt - Tiffany Grottie; great grandparents - Clint Wall, Sue Cooley, and Reba Grottie; great great grandmother- Marie Wall; and many cousins. 
     She is also survived by honorary grandparents - Mike and Mona Gunter and Mary and Dennis Marketic
     She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents - C.F. and Jeanene Williams; paternal grandfather - Trennis Dale Grottie grandfather - Delbert Grottie; great great grandfather - Orel Wall. 
Funeral services will be held at the Cowboy Church of Henrietta at 2:00PM Thursday, March 17, 2005 with Larrry Miller and Jerry Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Terral Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Terral. 

 

Frances Annette “Ann” Anderson...
    
Frances Annette “Ann” Anderson, 75, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in Bowie, TX.
     She was born December 4, 1929 in Bowie to Oscar Lawrence and Myrtie (Keen) Anderson.
     She lived in Bowie her entire life. Ann worked for Porter, Swint and Navarro Chevrolet for some twenty years and after twenty-five years with the First National Bank of Bowie, she retired in 1995.
    She returned to work part-time for Legend Bank until shortly before her death and was named Employee of the Year in 2004. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a devoted worker with the youth ministry. She coached in the local T-ball league and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
     Funeral services for Miss Anderson were Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Bowie with Rev. Mike Henson. White Family Funeral Home directed the service.
Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
    She is survived by: her sister, Wanda Nesser and husband Greg of Boise, ID; brother Melvin Anderson and his wife June of Wichita Falls, TX; extended family Kevin Echols and wife Charlotte of Wichita Falls, TX; nieces, Beverly Bumgarner and husband Billy of Wichita Falls, TX, Brenda Spilman and husband Paul of Hurst, nephew Ike Nesser of Corona, CA; great nieces Kelly Bumgarner, Tara Nesser and Heidi Nesser; great nephews Kevin Bumgarner, Ryan Nesser and Joseph Nesser; and many, many dear friends.
     Casket bearers were Bret Meekins, John McShan, Todd McMurray, Bill Yarbro, Mike Taylor, Joe Falsone, Robert Pope and Van Baize.
