J.L. Sullivan...
     J.L. Sullivan, 85, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005 in the community of Dean, near Wichita Falls, TX.
Graveside services were Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Lindale Cemetery with Bro. Jamie Reed officiating under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.
     J.L. was born April 17, 1920 in Montague to Samuel T. and Sally Ann (Downs) Sullivan. He married Edna Dowis on February 2, 1938 in Bowie. He worked in the oil field industry for Smith Well Service in Bridgeport until his retirement in 1983. He served his country in the Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of the VFW in Bowie. He was of the Baptist faith. J.L. was a family man who enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors.
     He is survived by one son, Junior Sullivan and his wife, Carmen of Childress, TX; daughters, Betty Shoemaker of Dean, Barbara Sherman and her husband, C.D. (Deedle) of Childress, Tx, Beverly Cripps and her husband, Stephen of Oxnard, CA and Irene Henry and her husband, Keith of Dean; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
     He was preceded in death by: his parents, Samuel and Sally Sullivan; wife, Edna Dowis Sullivan; and two sons, James and Jerry Sullivan.
      Pallbearers were Dennis Shoemaker, Paul Shoemaker, James Henry, JD Henry, Justin Henry and Bobby Reynolds.

 

Barbara Lynn Reeves and Jennifer Robin Reeves...
     Barbara Lynn Reeves and her daughter, Jennifer Robin Reeves, passed away on April 29, 2005.
     Graveside services for Barbara and Jennifer were Tuesday, May 3 at The Cowboy’s Last Ride Cemetery with Dr. Larry Cox officiating. White Family Funeral Home of Bowie directed the services.
    Barbara was born August 9, 1947 in Dallas, TX to Lynn Otis and Elsie (Lee) Burns. She married Loyd Lynn Reeves on August 4, 1970 in Ardmore, OK. She loved gardening, cooking and volunteering her time at the animal shelter. She was a loving wife and mother.
     Jennifer was born December 24, 1972 in Newport News, VA to Loyd Lynn and Barbara Lynn (Burns) Reeves. She was a giving woman with a love for dogs. She loved caring for her own dogs and spending time with her mother and father. She was an avid movie watcher.
     They are preceded in death by Barbara’s parents and Jennifer’s grandparents, Lynn and Elsie Burns; Barbara’s sister and Jennifer’s aunt, Carol Crouch.
     They are survived by Barbara’s husband and Jennifer’s father, Loyd Reeves of Bowie, TX; Barbara’s sister and Jennifer’s aunt, Margaret Edwards and her husband, Bruce of Poquoson, VA; Barbara’s brothers and Jennifer’s uncles, Robert Burns and his wife Cindy of Poquoson, VA and Lee Burns and his wife, Vicky of Clinton, MS; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
 

 

Claude Doyle and Jennie Naomi Moore...
     Services for Claude Doyle and Jennie Naomi Moore were on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Pentecostal Church of God in Bowie with Bro. Ronnie Tucker officiating. Whites Family Funeral Home directed the service.
     Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
     Claude was born November 1, 1915 in Dill City, Oklahoma to Johnny Wesley and Mary Alice (Odell) Moore. He married Jennie Naomi Johnson on June 27, 1947 in Fairfax, California. Claude served in the ministry for sixty years in the Pentecostal faith. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
     Jennie was born December 16, 1922 in Kiefer, Oklahoma to Burton and Ruby Retta (Cherry) Johnson. She married Claude Doyle Moore on June 27, 1947 in Fairfax, California. She was a homemaker and a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
     The couple are survived by: their children, Jessie Moore and his wife Jennie, Paul Moore and his wife Glenna, Alice Pike and her husband Jim, Ruth Bridges, Toby Moore and his wife Debbie, Donald Moore and his wife Fannie, Anna Davidson and her husband Roger, Clifford Moore and his wife Laura; twenty-nine grandchildren; and forty-eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; his five brothers, Richard Moore, Wayne Moore, Bonnie Moore, Chester Moore and David Moore; her three sisters, Nellie McLaughlin and her husband Claude, Bessie Walker and Dorothy Ann Johnson.
     She is preceded in death by: her parents, Burton and Ruby Johnson; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: his parents, Johnny and Mary Moore; sister Noami Moore; brothers Lonnie Moore, Vernon Moore, Ruben Moore, Hoyt Moore, John Moore, Clifford Moore and Jay Moore; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

     Joe Earl Coats, 79, of Dallas, TX, passed away April 28, 2005 at his home.
     He was born December 14, 1925 to Buster and Lona Davis Coats.
     Survivors include: two sons, Mike and wife Sue Coats of Sunset, TX and Steve & wife Diene Coats of Carrolton, TX; four grandchildren, Joey Coats of Sunset, TX, Tammy Bell of Alvord, TX, Kimberli Coats of Lewisville, TX and Lisa Coats of Carrolton, TX; three great grandchildren, Dustin, Hannah and Maverick.

 

Charles Edward Dudley...
SUNSET -- Charles Edward Dudley, 61, loving husband, son, father, brother, Poppy and Papa Charles, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005 in Bowie.
     Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday in J.E. Foust & Son Memorial Chapel in Grapevine with James Warden officiating. Burial: 2 p.m. following services in Sunset Cemetery in Sunset. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors.
     Charles' passion for tool and die started when he was in high school at Northwest High School in Justin. He worked at many places, including Victor Equipment in Denton. He was preceded in death by his father, James B. Dudley, and sister, Linda Sue Dudley.
    Survivors: Wife of 15 years, Christine Dudley; mother, Frances Dudley; children, Melissa Barber and husband, Tom, Brian Dudley and wife, Kirshna, Sherry Fowler and Ted Dudley and girlfriend, Cassandra; the mother of Charles' children, Jenny Forrest; stepchildren, Charles Austin and wife, Teresa, Christie Warden and husband, James, and Christopher Austin and girlfriend, Rebecca; grandchildren, Adam Dudley and wife, Amber, Dave Barber, Miranda Barber, Amber Barber, Thomas Dudley, Joseph Dudley, Charles Dudley, Alex Dudley, Heather Choate, Jordan Choate, Garrett Choate, Jayden Dudley, Alyssa Austin, Ashlyn Austin, Jonathan Austin and Valerie Warden; great-grandchildren, Travis Dudley and Taryn Dudley; brothers, James Dudley and wife, Lois, and Jerry Dudley and wife, Paula; sisters, Martha Watson and husband, Max; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

 

Louis Earl Kirtley...
     Louis Earl Kirtley, age 82, of Nocona, TX passed away April 26, 2005 in Nocona, TX.
     Mr. Kirtley was born February 16, 1923 in Excelsior Springs, MO to Ethard and Lucy O’Dell Kirtley. He married Lena Sellers on May 15, 1948 in Kansas City, MO. He was in the United States Air Force for twenty-one years serving in World War II and was a Nocona Masonic Lodge member. He was a Technician Supervisor Aircraft Maintenance at Airall of Dallas, TX.
      Funeral services for Mr. Kirtley were held Friday, April 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamoin Champ officiating. Interment was held at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Montague County, TX under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home. Masonic Graveside Rites directed by the Nocona Masonic Lodge 753 AF & AM.
      Surviving relatives include: his wife, Lena Kirtley, Nocona, TX; two sons, Robert Kirtley, Wichita Falls, TX and Douglas Kirtley, Bayou Vista, TX; one daughter, Denise Lovelady, Greenville, TX; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one brother, Emmitt Kirtley, Sumner, MO.
     Pallbearers included: Earl Bailey, Jesse Burnett, Jeremy Qualls, Dick Van Meter, Jim Wallace and Bart Young.
     Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Nocona Hills Volunteer Fire Department.
