Ray Carter Wall, age 81, of Brownwood, TX passed away October 28, 2005 in Brownwood, TX.
Mr. Wall was born March 2, 1924 in Buffalo Springs, TX to Fred B. and Ethel I. Wall. He married Pauline Burnett on January 9, 1950. He was a graduate of Bowie High School, a Veteran of WWII in the U.S. Army and lived in Bowie from 1964 to 1984.
Cemetery services for Mr. Wall were held Monday, October 31, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Newport Cemetery with Rev. Merwin Turner officiating, under the direction of the Heritage Family Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, Curtis Wall, Brownwood, TX and Stan Wall, Richmond, TX; one daughter, Susan Wall, Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren; one brother, Clifford Wall, St. Charles, MO; and one sister, Versel Johnson, Electra, TX.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Wall; and his parents, Fred B. and Ethel I. Wall.
Virginia Mae Vann...
Virginia Mae Mann, age 77, of Montague,
TX passed away October 24, 2005 in Bowie, TX.
Mrs. Vann was born January 11, 1928 to James William
Albert and Lula Myrtle Stoffle Melson in the Hardy Community in
Montague County, TX She graduated from Forestburg High School and was
a retired clerk at the Abstract Office. She was a member of the
Montague Methodist Church, served on the church board many years and
the Montague Cemetery Board for over twenty years. Mrs. Vann was a
Democratic Election Judge.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vann were held Thursday,
October 27, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverends Larry Coleman and Sam
Campbell officiating. Interment was at Montague Cemetery under the
direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Tony James (TJ)
Vann, Sr. on December 10, 1996; one son, Timothy Monroe Vann on
February 16, 1962; one son-in-law, Glen Romine on April 27, 1996; her
parents, Albert Melson on November 21, 1967 and Lula Stofle Melson on
October 4, 1985; and one brother, Sonny Melson in July, 1994.
She is survived by: one daughter, Kay Vann Romine
of Montague, TX; one son, Tony James Vann, Jr., his wife Dawna of
Forestburg, TX; six grandchildren, Darrel Lynn Romine and wife Melissa
of Decatur, TX, Timothy Dale Romine and wife Staci of Alvord, TX, Tara
Kay Romine Vicari and husband Kurt of Montague, TX, Toby Kyle Vann and
wife Candi of Forestburg, TX, Jeremy Tyson Vann of Forestburg, TX,
Timothy Gerald Vann of Fletcher, OK; eight grandchildren, Gregg and
Ethen Romine of Alvord, TX, Justin and Kendra Romine of Decatur, TX,
Derek Vann of Montague, TX, Taten and Trevor Vann of Forestburg, TX,
and Madison Vann of Montague, TX; one sister, Mary Alberta Melson
Williams of Bellmire Healthcare Center, Bowie, TX; six nephews; one
niece; and several great nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; and a
lot of friends.
Pallbearers included: Ray Walker, Eugene Shears, Johnny
Carter, Monty Yowell, Rodney Romine and Jerry Hardison.
Honorary pallbearers included: Dick Elsey, Helen Elsey,
Jr. Landers, Mae Wade, Dawson Ensey, Ileen Cunningham, Margaret
Wright, Jo Lee, Keeno Friends, Raymond Walker and Horace James Walker.
Memorials may be made to the Montague Cemetery
Association or the Montague United Methodist Church building fund.

Vernon and Willie Boyett Trout. She worked as a nurse aide.
