Wilton “Bub” Alsup, age 88, of Bowie, TX
passed away October 8, 2005 in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Alsup was born May 15, 1917 in Ryan, OK to James
Oswell and Ella May Thomas Alsup. He worked for thirty-six years as a
heavy equipment mechanic for Halliburton. He was a member of the
Masonic Lodge in Terrall, OK.
Funeral services for Mr. Alsup were held Monday,
October 10, 2005 at 2:00 p..m. at the Ebenezer Pentecostal Church of
God with Reverend Ronnie Tucker officiating, under the direction of
The White Family Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Della Alsup,
Bowie, TX; one daughter, Glenda Elzan Alsup Bryant, Sulphur Springs;
one son, Wilton Max Alsup, Bowie, TX; ten grandchildren; two great
grandchildren ; and one sister, Tennie Euzellia Muday, Duncan, OK.

Gladys Thompson, 84, of Bowie, TX, passed
away October 5, 2005 in Bowie.
She was born January 17, 1921 in Oscar, OK to Marion
and Dora Brown Jones. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church of
Bowie. Mrs. Thompson worked for Haggar Slack Co. and Howard Wolf Dress
Co.
Funeral services were Saturday, October 8, 2005 at
10:00 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Neely & Rev. John
Robles officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery. Heritage
Family Funeral Home of Bowie directed the service.
Pallbearers included: Billy Lee Jones, Marvin Jones,
Ronnie Jones, Larry Randall Jones, Lee Wayne Jones, Donald Ray Tomlin,
Bobby Tomlin, David Tomlin, Steven Jones and Richard Jones.
Honorary pallbearers included: Lewis Wright, Norma Jones and Danny
Wright.
Survivors include: one daughter, Wanda Mead of
Carlsbad, NM; one sister, Mattie Faye Dorman of Bowie, TX; two
grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three great-great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: one daughter; four
brothers; one sister; three grandchildren; two husbands; and her
parents.

Rheta Jo Burleson, 71, of Bellevue, TX,
passed away October 4, 2005 in Wichita Falls, TX.
She was born October 8, 1933 in McCauley, TX to J.F. &
Rossie Peterson. On December 28, 1950 she married Bill Burleson in
Lubbock, TX. Mrs. Burleson was a homemaker and a resident of Bellevue
for thirty years.
Graveside services for Mrs. Burleson were on Friday,
October 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bellevue Cemetery, Bellevue, TX
with Rev. Gene Baker officiating. Heritage Family Funeral Home of
Bowie directed the service.
Survivors include: her husband, Bill Burleson of
Bellevue, TX; daughters Cherry Harrison and Candy Perry, both of
Bellevue, TX; two brothers, Frank and Gaston Peterson; six
grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Loretta May Boyd, 77, of Nocona, TX,
passed away October 7, 2005 in Lafayette, LA.
She was born May 19, 1928 in Nocona, TX to George and
Pearl Breeze Pounds. She married Roscoe H. Boyd, Jr., who preceded her
in death September 29, 2003.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 12,
2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Scott-Morris Chapel in Nocona, TX. Burial
followed in Crestview Cemetery, Wichita Falls, TX.
Survivors include: one son, Rod Boyd; and one
granddaughter, Tanya Boyd.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her
parents, one brother and one sister.

Oba Alton Cox, Jr.of Montague, TX passed
away October 8, 2005 in Nocona, TX
Mr. Cox was born March 25, 1932 in Walsenburg, CO to
Oba Alton and Edith Cox. He had lived in Montague since he was nine
years old. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Montague,
TX.
Funeral services for Mr. Cox were held Wednesday,
October 12, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Montague,
TX with Dr. Bennie Slack officiating. Interment was at the Montague
Cemetery under the direction of the Heritage Family Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oba Alton and
Edith Cox; and one cousin, Alma Cochran.

Jerry Whitaker, age 70, of Bowie, TX,
passed away October 9, 2005 in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Whitaker was born November 9, 1934 in Fort Worth,
TX to Martin and Roxie Day Arnold Whitaker. He married Dorothy Ann
Williams on September 2, 1961. He served his country in the United
States Army and worked as a residential painted. He was a member of
the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Whitaker were held Wednesday,
October 12, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Assembly of God with
Reverend Greg Newton and L.C. Smith officiating. Interment was at
Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of The White Family Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his children, Gary
Whitaker, Saint Jo, TX, Kay Maxwell, Bowie, TX, and Sherry Dorman,
Bowie, TX; one brother, Lowell Whitaker, Fort Worth, TX; seven
grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two nephews; and numerous
cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, M.B. and Roxie
Day Whitaker and his wife, Dorothy Whitaker.

Ernest DeBord, 85, of Sunset, TX, passed away
September 28, 2005 in Sunset, TX.
He was born October 24, 1919 in Lewisville, TX to
Albert & Lela DeBord. He was a resident of Sunset since 1982.
Graveside services for Mr. DeBord were Saturday,
October 1, 2005 in the Sunset Cemetery with Rev. Arval Miller
officiating. Heritage Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX directed the
service.
Survivors include: six sons, Ernest, Arthur, Robert,
George, David and Jack DeBord; and one daughter, Skeeter Erwin.
He was preceded in death by: two sisters, six brothers;
and his parents.

Doyce Kenneth Ice, 74, passed away Thursday,
October 6, 2005 in a Dallas hospital.
He was born October 19, 1930 in Montague County, TX.
Mr. Ice worked for Kraft Foods, retiring in 1993. He was a member of
the First Baptist Church of Garland .
Funeral services for Mr. Ice were Saturday, October 8,
2005 at 10:00 a.m. in Cockrell Hill Chapel at First Baptist Church of
Garland with Rev. Greg Ammons officiating. Burial followed at 2:00
p.m. in Center Point Cemetery, Montague County, TX. McCoy Funeral Home
of Saint Jo, TX directed the services.
Survivors include: his wife of 54 years, Betty Ingram
Ice; two daughters, Rhonda Ice Adams and Catherine Annette Ice; and
three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, one sister
and one brother.
“Bill” William Fredric Lipscomb...
“Bill” William Fredric Lipscomb, 93, of Nocona, TX,
passed away October 6, 2005 in Nocona.
He was born February 25, 1912 in Denton, TX to LeGrand
and Nannie Harvill Lipscomb. Bill was a member of the Presbyterian
Church, serving as deacon and elder. He owned Lipscombs Dry Goods in
Nocona and Bowie. He was also a member of the Nocona Lions Club and
served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services for Mr. Lipscomb were Sunday, October
9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Shelly
McNew officiating. Burial followed in the Nocona Cemetery. Scott
Morris Funeral Home of Nocona directed the services.
Survivors include: two children, Rita Talley of Saint
Jo, TX and Richard Lipscomb of Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren; and
two great granddaughters.
Bill was preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Talley
and his wife, Frances Elizabeth Clark Lipscomb.

with Brother Kern Choate officiating. Interment was at Elmwood
Cemetery under the direction of The White Family Funeral Home.
