Doris was born June 2, 1947 in Muenster, TX to John and
Hattie Grewing. She grew up in Muenster and attended school at Sacred
Heart. She was the youngest of 9 children and was a homemaker.
Mass of Christian burial for Doris Lee Grewing was held Wednesday,
September 28, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church with Rev.
John Ohner, O.S.A. officiating. Services were under the direction of
McCoy Funeral Home in Muenster, TX.
Surviving relatives include: two brothers, Herman
and Anthony Grewing, both of Muenster, TX; and one sister, Angeline
Barnhill, Muenster, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and
Hattie Grewing; four brothers, Richard, Stephen, Walter and Joseph
Grewing; and one sister, Mildred Grewing.

Lila Jean Brookshire, 78, passed away Monday,
September 19, 2005 in Roseburg, OR.
She was born March 7, 1927 in Butler, PA to Roy and
Laverna (Moyer) McCandless. She married Dalton Brookshire on December
19, 1957 in Sweetwater, TX. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with
her family.
Funeral services were on Monday, September 26, 2005 at
2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Decatur,
TX with Bishop Kenneth Blankenfield officiating, under the direction of
the White Family Funeral Home.Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery,
Bowie, TX.
Survivors include: her husband, Dalton Brookshire of
Bowie, TX; son Steve Brookshire of Bowie, TX; daughters, Donna Jean
Pelton of Salt Lake City, UT and Shannon Sue Hall of Umpqua, OR;
fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three sisters; and
one brother.

RC “Dick” Morgan, age 73 of Nocona, TX
passed away September 13, 2005 in Nocona, TX.
Mr. Morgan was born May 26, 1932 in Quail, TX to
Carroll C. Rena Reed Morgan. He had worked in the Oil Field for Jack
Mercer Wells and for Curtis Martins.
Graveside services for Mr. Morgan were held
Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. in the Starkey Cemetery with
Rev. Clark Farley officiating. Services under the direction of Scott
Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: three step children,
Kathy, Sharon and Lonnie; one brother, Don Morgan, Bowie, TX; and one
sister, Ruth Ezzell, Bridgeport, TX.

Kenne Huneke, 53, passed away Sunday, September 25,
2005 in Bowie, TX.
He was born May 21, 1952 in Amarillo, TX to Buck and
Mary Elizabeth (Christy) Huneke. He married Angela Sutton on December
25, 1995 in Bowie, TX. He worked for eleven years at Federal Express. He
was a member of Bible Baptist Church and loved working on his 1951 model
Ford pickup. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Services were Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at
2:00 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Jones officiating.
Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery, under the
direction of White Family Funeral Home.
Survivors include: his wife, Angela “Angi” of Bowie,
TX; his children, Jimmy Lee Huneke and Kayla McLain of Bowie, TX;
in-laws, Joe and Mary Ann Sutton, Bowie, TX; brother and sister-in-laws,
Monte Sutton of Lewisville, TX and Glen and Bobbie Joe Gamblin of
Bellevue, TX; nieces Zoe Alexandra and Sade Nicole Sutton; and
grandmothers Edith Marie Box and Opal Rolls; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Buck and Mary
Elizabeth Huneke; and his brother, Bob Huneke.

Ruby LaNell “Nell” (Fuller) Stell...
Ruby Lanell “Nell” (Fuller) Stell, age 70 of Buffalo
Springs, TX passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005 in a Wichita Falls
hospital.
Mrs. Stell was born September 6, 1035 in Buffalo
Springs, TX to Dennis and Eula Fuller, the youngest of six children. She
attended Buffalo Springs School and Midway Schools, graduating in 1953.
She married Jim Stell on June 13, 1953. They made their home in Buffalo
Springs, TX. They have three children; Susan, Shara and Jay. Nell became
a Stanley Home Products dealer in 1963 and was involved in that business
for over forty years during which time she was given numerous awards and
recognition.
She was a member of Pleasant Mount Free Will Baptist Church for over
fifty years during which she served as Sunday School teacher, youth
night coordinator, and CTS coordinator. Nell was involved and held
offices at the local, district and state levels of Women Active for
Christ.
Nell was active in many community and charitable activities. She was a
member of the Clay County Historical Society and volunteered at the Clay
County Museum. She also served on the Clay County Pioneer Queen
Selection Committee. Nell was actively involved in the American Cancer
Society’s Relay for Life. She was president of the Buffalo Springs
Cemetery Association.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Stell were held Tuesday,
September 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Mound Freewill Baptist
Church. Interment was at Buffalo Springs Cemetery under the direction of
Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta, TX.
Surviving relatives include: her husband of 52 years,
Jim Stell of Buffalo Springs, TX; two daughters, Susan and husband, Gary
Williamson, Lee Summit, MS and Shara and husband Kevin Bookout,
Blackwell, OK; one son, Jay and wife, Donna Stell of Clay County. Nell
also had four grandchildren, Allison and Kara Bookout and Zachary and
Abby Williamson; one sister, Valere Althouse; and one brother, J.B.
“Bud” Fuller.
Memorials may be made to Buffalo Springs Cemetery
Association, Hospice of Wichita Falls, TX or the American Cancer
Society.

Thomas Neal Ritchey, age 77 of Bowie, TX passed
away September 15, 2005 in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Ritchey was born August 31, 1928 in Tolbert, TX to
Issac Neal and Pearl Rice Ritchey. He married Juanita Unger on October
1, 1949 in Bowie, TX. He was a mechanic.
Funeral services for Mr. Ritchey were held Saturday,
September 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel
with Reverends Tommy Lamascus and David Hall officiating. Interment was
at Brushy Cemetery under the directions of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Carolyn
Maxwell and Pat Heugatter, both of Bowie, TX; three grandsons, Austin
Heugatter, Yancey Heugatter and Jeff Dennison; one grandson; and one
great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Ritchey
on April 26, 2002 and one daughter, Barbara Dennison on September 8,
2004.
Pallbearers included: Austin Heugatter, Yancey
Heugatter, Jeff Dennison, Allen Leek, Bob Hankins and Don Hankins.

Vaudie Aline (Sampson) Hyden, age 74 of
Gainesville, TX passed away September 21, 2005.
Mrs. Hyden was born November 25, 1930 in Victoria, TX
to Jesse and Myrtle Anglin Sampson. She was formerly of Saint Jo, TX
where she worked on a farm all of her life.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hyden were held Monday,
September 26, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the McCoy Funeral Chapel with Rev.
Keith Rogers officiating. Interment was at Coker Cemetery under the
direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo, TX.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Shirley
Bridges and Bobbie Laird, Both of Gainesville, TX; one son, Billy
Popejoy, Commerce City, CO; eleven grandchildren; thirteen
great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jesse Bill “Bud” Sampson, Nocona,
TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and
Myrtle Sampson; her husband, H.H. Hyden; two brothers, J.C. Sampson and
Johnny Lee Sampson.

Robert Erwin Hill...
Robert Erwin Hill, 53, passed away Monday,
September 19, 2005 in Mobile, Alabama.
Funeral Services for Mr. Hill were held Friday at 4:00
p.m. in the Drawing Room of the White Family Funeral Home with Reverends
Doyle Reynolds and Sara Hardaway officiating under the direction of the
White Family Funeral Home.
Burial followed at Hopewell Cemetery.
Robert was born February 11, 1952 in Lemmon, South
Dakota to Claude and Mary Edwards Hill. He worked as an insurance
adjuster for Allstate. He was a member of the First United Methodist
Church, the Cutting Horse Association, and the American Quarter Horse
Association.
He is preceded in death by his father, Claude Hill.
He is survived by his daughter, Jenna Hill of Bowie;
mother, Mary Hill of Bowie; brother, Buddy Hill of Houma, Louisiana; and
numerous nieces and nephews. |
