Joan Eloise Upton, 71, of Nocona, TX in Wichita Falls, TX.
She was born March 19, 1935 in Denver, CO to Fred and Louise Hicks Cole. She always had a smile for everyone when she worked as security guard at the Nocona Hills entrance and was a friend to all.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Survivors include: her mother, Louise Cole; two daughters, Pamela Soliz of Vernon, CO and Patricia Hernandez of Mission, TX; two sons, James Kirkpatrick of The Colony, TX and John Kirkpatrick of Bedford, TX; two sisters, Dorothy Steiben and Anna Christian, both of Denver, CO and Shirley Wheeler of Arlington, SD; thirteen grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Upton in 2005.

Zetta V. Walls, 89, of Bowie, TX, passed away on July 26, 2006 in Nocona, TX.
She was born June 15, 1917 in Electra, TX to Eli Buck and Melinda Addie Bone Frazier. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Nocona, under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home of Nocona. Burial followed at Spanish Fort Cemetery.
Survivors include: her children, Inez Engledow of Bowie, TX, Kay Flood of Hayworth, OK, Vivian “Jean” Walls -Waller of Bowie, TX; Sue Brewer of Saint Jo, TX, Buck Romine of Garland, TX and special friend, Amy Hancock of Bowie, TX; twenty-nine grandchildren; seventy great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
Zetta was preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband, Edward Perry in 1942; her second husband, Willie Walls in 1989; six children; two sisters; three brothers; one grandson; and two great grandchildren.

Joseph Chance Wood, 27, passed away Monday, July 24, 2006 in Bowie, TX 
Chance was born December 6, 1978 in Decatur, TX to Roger Dale and Joyce Kay (Davidson) Wood. He was a life-long resident of Bowie and graduated from Bowie High School in 1997. He was employed at Level’s Food Store and then Brookshires as the meat market manager. He enjoyed camping, fishing, cookouts and listening to music.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church with David White and Kenneth Wood officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home. Burial followed at Tucker Cemetery in Chico, TX.
Survivors include: his parents, Roger and Joyce Wood of Bowie, TX; one sister, Michelle Merritt and her husband, Phillip of Bowie, TX; one brother, Dustin Wood of Bowie, TX; nephew Tucker and niece Kylie, both of Bowie, TX; his best friends, Tommy Hester of Bowie, TX and Forest Scott of Bridgeport, TX; paternal grandparents, John and Louise Wood of Bowie, TX; and maternal grandmother, Evelyn Davidson of Bridgeport, TX.
Pallbearers Tommy Hester, Forest Scott, Rusty Reed, Ed Barnes, David Davidson and Les Davidson.

Oma H. Stump, 95, of Bowie, TX, passed away July 28, 2006 in Bowie.
She was born July 31, 1910 in Montague, TX and was a lifetime resident of Montague County. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and loved gardening and flowers.
Funeral services were July 30, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. at the Heritage Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bowie with Rev. Harold Tucker officiating. Heritag Family Funeral Home directed the service. Burial followed at Montague Cemetery.
Survivors include: three daughters, Leketa Dollar of Springtown, TX, Debbie Lemons of Bowie, TX and Judy Mantooth of Bowie, TX; one son, Lester Stump of Bowie, TX; one brother, Jack Romine; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Stump was preceded in death by: husbands, Marvin Hise and Earl Stump; one son, Doyle Hise; and one daughter, Ruth Gardner.

Ruby I. Bebout, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006 in Bowie, TX.
She was born July 21, 1921 in Mena, AR to the late Dave and Bertha (Heath) Miller. On November 23, 1972 she married Alfred Eugene Bebout in Plainview, TX. Ruby was a resident of Bowie for 12 years. She was a member of Eastern Star.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2006 in the chapel of Heritage Family Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Tucker, Rev. John Robles and Rev. Bob Williams officiating,under the direction of Heritage Family Funeral Home. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery.
Survivors include: six daughters, Linda Nolan, Glenda Dancy, Marion Moore, and May Farley, all of Bowie, Jackie Johnson of Sunset, TX and Mona Nored of Montague, TX; two brothers, Ruffus Miller of KS and Leon Miller of Bennington, OK; two sisters, Jewell Reel and Edna Nichols; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons; two brothers; and two sisters.

Winston Harold Adams, 84, of Nocona, TX, passed away July 25, 2006 in Nocona.
He was born February 28, 1922 in Byers, TX to Tom and Sallie Roberts Adams. Winston was a member of the Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army, and retired from Wilson Manufacturing where he worked for 37 years.
Graveside services were Friday, July 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Byers Cemetery, Byers, TX. Scott-Morris Funeral Home directed the service.
Survivors include: his wife, Vida Mae Adams of Nocona, TX; one son, Larry Adams of Wichita Falls, TX; one sister, Melba Burross of Byers, TX; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

John Henry Fette...
John Henry Fette, 66, of Tacoma, WA, passed away Friday, July 28, 2006 in Salina, KS.
He was born November 13, 1939 in Muenster, TX to Edward John and Katherine Knabe Fette. On May 21, 1966 he married Judy Mullins in Norman, OK. John enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and later became a helicopter pilot. He received many distinguished military awards during his military service. He was a life member of the Catholic Church, currently in Tacoma, WA and was a past member of Sacred Heart Parish.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 4, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Muenster with Rev. Pat Murphy officiating. McCoy Funeral Chapel directed the service. Burial will follow in the Veteran’s plot at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife, Judy of Tacoma, WA; daughters, Annie Fleming and Anna Chu of Tacoma, WA; mother, Kate Wilson of Muenster, TX; four sisters; two brothers; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
John was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Hess, Noah Hess, Randy Fette, Michael Simpson, Matt Tigler and J. Shane Wimmer.
