Cody Dwight Green...
Cody Dwight Green, 21, passed away October 31, 2006 in Lubbock, TX.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Bowie with Dave Hartman and Jim Zug officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home.
Burial followed in Newport Cemetery.
Cody was born July 22, 1985 in Lubbock, TX. He attended Fowler Elementary, McNeil Jr. High and Rider High School in Wichita Falls, TX and NCTC in Bowie, TX. He was a member of First Christian Church in Wichita Falls and served as an acolyte in his youth at Highland Heights Christian Church in Wichita Falls, TX. Cody moved to Lubbock area in January, 2006 when he became employed by Granite Construction Company. His fiance, Tara DeBorde, of Colorado, moved to Texas in June to begin their life together. Cody was an outdoor enthusiast and loved hunting, fishing, exploring and playing golf. His favorite times of the year were the 4th of July and Halloween.
Cody is survived by: his parents, Dwight Green of Colorado Springs, CO and Sharon McManus of Bellevue, TX; grandparents, Doyle Green of Littlefield, TX, LaVaughn McManus and wife, Kathryn of Newport, TX; aunts and uncles, Karen McManus, Jerry McManus, Darwin Green and wife, Debbie, Gary Green and wife, Cheryl, Brent Green and wife, Jodee and his fiance, Tara DeBorde; numerous cousins, Misty and Cody Johnson, Jason and Hayley McManus, Bruce Williamson, Matthew Green, Chris Green, Brenton Green, Scotty Green, Teri Green, Spencer Green, Skylar Green and Shelbee Green.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Louise Green and cousin, Savannah Green. Paid publication
J.W. Mathis...
J.W. Mathis, 67, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, went to be with Jesus on November 2, 2006. His death came after a valiant battle with cancer.
Services were held Sunday, November 5, 2006 at First United Methodist Church of Gordon. Rev. Jim Wright officiated assisted by Rev. Shelly Brooks. Burial was in New Gordon Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ray Ratliff, Ivy McMillan, Don Parish, Joe Harrison, Paul Ivy and David Clack. Honorary pallbearers were J.W.’s former employees who “always help carry the load” in the office: Charlotte Brandenburg, Mary Ellen Cooper, Sandra Knoblock, Gloria Smith, Linda Tuggle, Patty Woolam and Kelly Knolis.
He was born September 26, 1939 in Olden, TX to James and Helen Mathis. He joined the Army at the age of 16 and served in Germany. He met Marsa, the love of his life, and they married in July 1958. J.W. started work with Lone Star on March 16, 1959 and retired in 1997 after 38 years of employment. This began in 1959 in Breckenridge, then in 1966 moved to Gordon and made supervisor in 1973 in Fox, OK. In 1978 he returned to Jacksboro, moved again in 1993 to Irving and retired in 1993 in Eastland. After retiring from Lone Star, he worked for TEPSCO until 2002. J.W. wanted all his employees and co-workers to know how much he enjoyed working with them throughout his career.
J.W. was then able to enjoy his family, farming, fishing, hunting and life in general. His motto was, “It’s gotta get better,” and we know that it did.
Survivors include: Marsa, his loving wife of 48 years; son, Mike and wife, Debra of Mineral Wells; daughter, Michelle Biddy of Palmer; grandsons, Breck (Pedro) and Gabe Mathis; granddaughter, Maddie (Baby Girl) Biddy; beloved as a son and daughter, Rusty and Luanne Pierce of Frisco; his father, James (Red) Mathis of Amarillo; three brothers, Jim Mathis of Lubbock, Bill Mathis of Laurel, MI, Jack Coleman and wife, Mary of Gordon; two sisters, Betty Morris of Brownwood and Sissy Crawley and husband, Doug, of Ranger; nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Ire Lee of Mineral Wells; and brother and sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by mother Helen Coleman and stepfather, Lonnie and father-in-law, Dewey Lee and brothers-in-law, Bill Lee and Stanley Morris.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and the third floor nurses and staff at Palo Pinto General Hospital and the Hospice team for the exceptional love and care shown J.W. and our family during the illness.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Eastland First Christian Church, The Senior Center of Mineral Wells or your favorite charity.

Jimmie Dale Tinsley, Sr., 63, of Bowie, TX, passed away November 4, 2006 in Bowie.
He was born June 27, 1943 in Poplar Bluff, MO to Earl and Ruby (Cox) Tinsley. Jimmie owned and operated J&T Drywall Comany for several years. He was an outdoor enthusiast and love wildlife.
Funeral services were Monday, November 6, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. in the Drawing Room of the White Family Funeral Home. Arrangements were entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
Survivors include: his children, Jimmie Tinsley, Jr. of Granbury, Paul Tinsley of Bowie, TX, Tammie and Teddy Tinsley, both of Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren; numerous other grandchilden and great grandchildren; three brothers, Bob, Harold and Estell Tinsley; one sister, Doris Minton; one stepdaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Tinsley.

“Nicky” Nicholas Marco Anzalone...
“Nicky” Nicholas Marco Anzalone, 48, of Nocona, TX, passed away November 4, 2006 in Nocona.
He was born November 8, 1957 in Bronxville, NY to Nicholas Peter and Shirley Rowena Jones Anzalone. He graduated from Prairie Valley School. On April 2, 1980 Nicky married Joyce Marie Imler. Nicky was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Nocona and was an ordained Pentecostal Church of God Minister. He had worked for the City of Nocona, Saint Jo and Decatur in the Water Departments.
Funeral servcies were Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Abundant Life Church in Nocona with Rev. Rod Messer officiating. Scott-Morris Funeral Home directed the service.
Survivors include: his wife, Joyce Anzalone of Nocona, TX; children, Nicholas Anzalone of Phoenix, AZ, aunt, Clara King of Childress, TX; and several cousins.
The family requests memorials be made to the Abundant Life Building Fund.
Calvin Gordon Sharp...
Calvin Gordon Sharp, 45, of Saint Jo, TX passed away Friday, November 3, 2006.
He was born December 8, 1960 in Purcell, OK to John Rolin and Hazel Elizabeth Storey Sharp. He was a member of the Baptist faitha nd a member of the National Rifle Association. He worked as a ranch foreman and later as a dry wall applicator. On December 8, 1984, Calvin married Sandra Shawne Patrick in Purcell, OK. Calvin enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren.
Graveside services were on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in Center Point Cemetery, under the directio of McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo. Curt Simmons and Ronny Hale officiated.
Survivors include: his wife, Sandra of Saint Jo, TX; daughters, Devin Troyer of Noble, OK and Samantha Sharp of Saint Jo, TX; sons, Calvin Beau Sharp of Wannette, OK and Brian Sharp of Saint Jo, TX; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
Pallbearers were Bob Earl Lee, John Sampson, Ron Abner, Ronald Monk, John Bernard, Scott Frost, Paul Carpenter, Bill Reynolds and Ricky Brawner.
