     Willis D. Leatherwood, age 91 of Justin, TX passed away February 25, 2006 in Denton, TX.
     Mr. Leatherwood was born September 4, 1914 in Saint Jo, TX to J.M. and Cora Cannon Leatherwood. He married Lotella Earp July 8, 1937 in Wichita Falls, TX. He attended school in Saint Jo, TX and was a Seventh Day Adventist.
     Graveside services for Mr. Leatherwood were held March 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cumby Cemetery with Danny Laws officiating. Services under the direction of the Heritage Family Funeral Home.
     Surviving relatives include: his wife, Lotella Earp Leatherwood, Justin, TX; one son, Dwight Leatherwood, Argyle, TX; and one sister, Orene Beatty, Fort Worth, TX.
     He is preceded in death by his parents, J.M. & Cora Leatherwood; his step mother, Ethel Ryan Leatherwood, two sisters, Velva Jo Leatherwood and Lucy Sterling; and two brothers, Bob Ryan and Welborn Ryan.

 

Willie D. Curnutte...
     Willie D. Curnutte, age 71 of Nocona, TX passed away February 21, 2006 in Nocona, TX.
     Mr. Curnutte was born July 20, 1934 in Mallard, TX to Leonard and Alpha Ellen Groves Curnutte. He married Delores Breeze on December 6, 2005 in Nocona, TX. He worked for the County of Montague and was of the Penecostal faith.
       Graveside services for Mr. Curnutte were held Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nocona Cemetery. Services under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
     Surviving relatives include: his wife, Delores Curnutte, Decatur, TX; one son, Darrell Curnutte, Bellevue, TX; two step children, Dwayne Head, Electra, TX and Kathey Griffeth, Decatur, TX; five sisters, Allie May Wright, Bonnie Wood, Nell Admire, and Shirley Booth, all from Whitesboro, TX and Letha Printiss, Hillsboro, TX; one brother, Raymond Curnutte, Nocona, TX; 5 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by one son, Willie Doyle Curnutte on December 4, 1997.

 

Weda Lou Cantrell Reynolds...
     Weda Lou Cantrell Reynolds was born June 3, 1932 in Sunset, Texas to parents Maine and Elizabeth Cantrell. She passed from this life into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at the age of 73 years, 8 months, and 19 days in Bowie, Texas.
     Memorial services were held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Dewey Community Church in Forestburg, Texas. Rev. David Reynolds officiated, under the direction of Heritage Family Funeral Home.
Weda was a long time member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Wise County, Texas.
She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and homemaker who truly made the house a home in both Arlington and Sunset.
     Weda was preceded in death by her parents, Maine and Elizabeth Cantrell; her brother, Wesley Cantrell; sister, Wanda Robinson; and 2 sons, Darrell and Tracey Reynolds.
     She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Tipton P. Reynolds of Arlington; son, David F. Reynolds and wife Debbie of Fort Worth; daughter, Leighlani Edison and husband Steve of Arlington; grandson Daniel Reynolds of Fort Worth; brother, Warren Cantrell of Lindale, as well as several nieces and nephews.
     The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in honor of Weda to the American Alzheimer's Association.

Mary Frances Hopson Taylor, age 82, of Bowie, Texas passed away February 22, 2006 in Bowie, Texas.
     Mrs. Taylor was born May 31, 1923 in Bowie, TX. She was a lifetime resident of Bowie, TX. She married Clearnce Lewis Taylor in June of 1941 in Montague County. She was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary Post 8789.
     Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor were held Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eastside Baptist Church of Bowie, TX with Rev. Jamie Reed officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Heritage Family Funeral Home.
     Surviving relatives include: her daughters, Kathy Taylor, Susan Lock, Bonnie Brisco, all of Bowie, TX, Melba Lorance, and Louise Mayfield, Mooreland, OK; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and one sister, Ann Hopson Baker, Vernon, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Jewel Hopson, her husband, Clearnce Lewis Taylor; and five brothers, Bill, Joe, Wyle, R.L. and Earl Hopson.

 

Johnny Lewis Tinsley...
     Johnny Lewis Tinsley, age 61, of Stephenville, TX passed away February 22, 2006 at a hospital in Stephenville, TX.
     Mr. Tinsley was born June 8, 1944 in Milledgeville, GA to Lee Irvin and Maude Overman Tinsley. He married Lana Kay McCubbins on October 18, 1968 in Gainesville, TX. He was retired from the US Air Force and was a member of the American Legion in Stephenville, TX. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Nocona, TX.
     Graveside services for Mr. Tinsley were held Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at the Nocona Cemetery with Rev. Les Ryan officiating. Services under the direction of Jerry Wood Funeral Home.
     Surviving relatives include: his wife, Lana Kay Tinsley, San Antonio, TX; one daughter, Yvonne MacMurtry, San Antonio, TX; one son, Jimmy Tinsley, San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Martha Helen Pounds and Fran Chapman, Milledgeville, GA.

 

Jerry Leon Dickerson...
     Jerry Leon Dickerson passed away on February 19, 2006.
     He was born on September 12, 1937 in Edom, Texas to Levy and Jean Peterson Dickerson. He was the owner of Longhorn Pest Control for the past twenty-five years. He loved hunting, watching rodeos, especially bull riding, entertaining, cooking and telling embellished stories; he had a saying for everything and he loved Texas. Leon was very loyal to his family and many friends, and there was not anything he wouldn’t do for them. He never slept, he just checked his eyelids for holes.
     He will be greatly missed by his wife, Doris Blanchard Dickerson of Austin; daughters, D’Lynn Boyd and husband Bronson of Cedar Park, Kellie Pierce and husband Dougan of Round Rock; grandchildren, whom he spoiled, Aiden and Skyler Pierce; mother, Jean Wendte and husband Paul; brothers, Jim Dickerson and Randy Dickerson; sister, Midge Foster and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and son, Jerry Lynn.
     Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2006 in the funeral home with interment immediately following in Palm Valley Cemetery, Round Rock, Texas. Arrangements were by Beck Funeral Home.

     James W. Metcalf, age 66 of Sunset, TX passed away February 20, 2006 in Nocona, TX.
     Mr. Metcalf was born April 17, 1939 in Arkansas City, KS to Theodore and Ella Richardson Metcalf. He married Susan Peterson on September 16, 1980 in Rockford, IL. He was a deacon of First Baptist Church in Sunset, TX and attended Wichita State in Wichita KS. He was the Administrator of T.K. Ranch for fifteen years.
     Funeral services for Mr. Metcalf were held Friday, February 24, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Sunset, TX with Rev. Tim Neely officiating. Services under the direction of the Heritage Family Funeral Home.
     Surviving relatives include his wife, Susan Metcalf, Sunset, TX; two sons, Thomas Aaberg of Sunset, TX and Kevin Metcalf of Mermaim, KS; four daughters, Elizabeth Dunn, Sanger, TX, Kathy LaMere of Hallsville, MO, Pam Scott of Colorado Springs, CO and Annette Coffel of Kaneoae, HI; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Morris Metcalf, Sterling City, TX.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Ella Metcalf.

Colleen Cole...
     Coleen Cole, 55, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2006 in Bowie, Texas.
     Funeral Services were held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Bowie with Reverends Sara Hardaway and John Peel officiating under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home.
     Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
     Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Rural Texas in Bowie or the First United Methodist Church in Bowie.
     Coleen was born October 3, 1950 in Corpus Christi to Allison "Jack" Bryant and Ruby Ina (Stratton) Cole. She moved to Bowie in November of 1962 and graduated from Bowie High School in 1968. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked in the Cardiac Care Unit in Denton as a Registered Nurse. She owned the Weekender Dress Shop in Bowie for several years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron of Bowie Chapter #16 and District Deputy. She enjoyed being outdoors and riding horses and studing geneology.
     She is preceded in death by her father, A.B. "Jack" Cole.
     She is survived by her son, Chris Pennington of Bowie; mother, Ruby Cole of Bowie; special friend, John Ward of Sunset; aunt, Evangel Wilder of Corpus Christi; cousins, Kirk Wilder and family of Frisco, Chuck Wilder and family of Wimberly, and Ina Lynn Jensen and family of Corpus Christi.

     Cleo Maeon Airington, 90, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2006 in Bowie.

Cleo was born November 1, 1915 in Buffalo Springs, Texas to Todd Vernon and Celeste (Summers) Hickey. She married Jack Airington on October 29, 1932 in Ryan, Oklahoma.
She was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church in Bowie. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crafts.
     She is preceded in death by her parents, T.V. and Celeste Hickey; husband, Jack Airington; two sons, Stanley and Jackie Airington; and two brothers.
     She is survived by her three grandchildren, Keith Airington and his wife, Tracy of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Shelley McShan and her husband, John of Bowie, and Todd Airington and his wife, Brooke of Bowie; daughter-in-law, Jo Airington of Bowie; three great-grandchildren, Whitney and Collin McShan of Bowie and Isabelle Airington of Fort Lauderdale.
     Pallbearers were Mark Ashley, Bill Duvall, Ben Hill, Bobby Garrett, James Jones and Mike Robertson.

Bertha Danglemayr Fleitman, age 95 of Muenster, TX passed away February 26, 2006 at her residence in Muenster, TX.
     Mrs. Fleitman was born December 5, 1910 in Muenster, TX to Joseph and Theresia Muck Dangelmayr. She married Bruno Fleitman in Muenster, TX on October 27, 1938. She was a housewife, and a member of the St. Ann’s Society, the Catholic Daughter’s of America, the Garden Club and the Muenster Home Demonstration Club.
     Services for Mrs. Fleitman were held Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend John Ohner O.S.A. officiating. Interment was at the Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
     Surviving relatives include: three daughters, Sara Lester, Era, TX; Teresa Jo, Littleton, CO and Jane Cox, Tomball; two sons, John David Fleitman and Jerry Fleitman, both of Muenster, TX; fourteen grandchildren; and five grandchildren.
     Preceding her in death was her husband, Bruno Fleitman; her parents, Joseph and Theresia Dangelmayr; granddaughter, Rachel Fleitman; sisters, Mary and Theresia Felderhoff; and brothers, Most Rev. Bishop Augustine Danglymayr, Joe, Willie, Albert and Herman Danglemayr.
     In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muenster Home Care or Muenster Volunteer Fire Department.
