Mildred Marie Woods Poyner...
Mildred Marie Woods Poyner, 80, passed away Monday, November 5, 2007 in
Bowie, TX.
Mildred was born December 27, 1926 in Muenster, TX to Thomas Edward and
Dovie Mae (Barrett) Woods. She was raised in Capps Corner. Later she met
Dave Poyner, a high school classmate and married him on October 2, 1998
in Gainesville, TX. She enjoyed sewing and reading, but most of all
loved her children and grandchildren, whom she was always there for.
Graveside services were at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mountain Creek
Cemetery with Larry Cox officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
She is survived by her children, Linda Price of Gainesville, TX, Laura
Kellogg and husband, Kevin of Bowie, Patty Cooksey of Gainesville,
Claudia DeVenuto of Houston, TX, Ronnie Kelly of Wichita Falls, Janie
Walker of Henrietta; brothers, Jimmy Woods and wife, Joyce of Sunset and
Bobby Woods and wife, Leota of Nocona; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen
great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; son, Rick Reeves; husband,
Dave Poyner; and brothers, Larry, Dee and Winford Woods.

Virginia Louise Hughes, 78, of Bowie, TX, passed away November 2, 2007
in Nocona, TX.
She was born February 8, 1929 in Jonesboro, AR to Virgil and Idell
Wallace Pillow. She married Howard Hughes and was a homemaker. She was a
member of the Church of Christ. Virginia’s hobbies included, sewing,
cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a fifty-four
year resident of Bowie, TX.
Graveside services were on Monday, November 5, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in
Elmwood Cemetery, under the direction of Heritage Family Funeral Home.
Survivors include: her husband, Howard Hughes, Bowie; daughter, Linda
Bell, Nocona; sons, Carl, Paul and Randall Hughes, all of Bowie; three
brothers, all of Porter, TX; seven grandchildren; seven great
grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Katherine Mae Carminati...
Katherine Mae Carminati, 97, passed away November 2, 2007 in Nocona, TX.
She was born February 15, 1910 in Montague, TX to Tony Jack and Emma
Roberts Fenoglio. She married Dominic Carminati, who preceded her in
death, and was a lifetime resident of the Montague area.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, November 5, 2007 at 10:00
a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Nocona. Burial followed at
Montague Catholic Cemetery, under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral
Home.
Survivors include: one daughter, Gail McCall of Nocona, TX; and one
granddaughter, Lori McCall Hostetler of Carrolton, TX.
Nina Bradley “Billie” Poyner..
Nina Bradley “Billie” Poyner, 94, of Forestburg, TX passed away
Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Nocona Nursing Center, Nocona, TX.
She was born March 9, 1913 in Pleasant Ridge, TX to Johnny Mac and
Hettie McClendon. She worked as a nurse. On June 6, 1932, she married
Charles David Poyner.
Funeral services were Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the
First Baptist Church of Forestburg with Rev. Stewart Holloway and C.E.
Cole officiating. Burial followed in Perryman Cemetery, under the
direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Survivors include: daughter, Beverly Parnell, Forestburg; four
grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four great-great
grandchildren.
Katherine V. O’Harrow Blakely...
Katherine V. O’Harrow Blakely, 79, of Saint Jo, TX, passed away October
30, 2007.
She was born March 8, 1929 in Lubbock, TX. On November 18, 1950 she
married Alvin Blakely. She worked for Russell Newman and was a
homemaker. She was a member of Rubottom Baptist Church in Rubottom, OK.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the
First Baptist Church in Saint Jo, TX with Rev. Don Clark and Mr. C.E.
Cole officiating. Burial followed in Coker Cemetery, under the direction
of McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo.
Survivors include: her husband, Alvin of the home; two daughters, Rita
Blakely, Saint Jo and Roselle Lance, Collinsville, TX; sons, Jimmy
Blakely of Saint Jo and Gary Blakely, Fort Worth; and five
grandchildren.
Billie Burke Coleman Anderson...
Billie Burke Coleman Anderson, of Forestburg, TX, passed away Saturday,
November 3, 2007 in Forestburg.
She was born January 16, 1926 to Ollie and Audra Steagall Coleman in
Forestburg. She married Homer Rex Anderson on December 22, 1945. She
worked for American Airlines and ran the family business. At age 72, she
became a volunteer EMT with the Forestburg Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include: her husband, Rex; three daughters, Rebecca Embry, San
Angelo, Susan Nolen, Los Alamos, NM and Kim Desmuke of Forestburg, TX;
six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
