Verle Elliott, 71, of Nocona, TX, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012.

 Verle was born on July 16, 1940, in Gorman, TX, to Robert Thomas and Ruby Alotoa Patton Elloitt. He married Norma Jo Elliott and attended Nocona Church of Christ. He served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963 and achieved the rank of Boatsmen 3rd class.

 Funeral services were held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nocona Church of Christ with Dale Scott officiating. Burial followed in Nocona Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by Scott-Morris Funeral Home.

 Verle is survived by his son, Scott Elliott of Nocona, daughters April Hutson of Herford, TX, and Leslie Keck of Nocona, three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

 Burtis Fay Hawkins, 92, of Nocona, TX, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012.

 Burtis was born on March 24, 1919 in Erath County, TX to Lee and Leona Scruggs O’Neal. She was a nursing home administrator and attended Nocona Central Christian Church.

 Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Oden officiating. Burial followed in Nocona Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by Jerry Woods Funeral Home.

 Burtis is survived by her son, Steve Spivey of North Richland Hills, TX, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

 Norma Jean Johnson, 72, of Montague, TX, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

 Norma was born on May 15, 1939, in Starkey Community, TX, to Alonzo E. and Minnie Cleo (Ashford) Leaton. She graduated from Nocona High School in 1957 and married Starr Johnson on July 3, 1963. She worked for nineteen years in the Montague County Courthouse.

 Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Nolen Partridge officiating. Burial followed in Starkey Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by Scott-Morris Funeral Home.

 Norma is survived by her husband, Starr Johnson of Montague, TX, three sons, Jack of Ft. Morgan, CO, Don of Monatgue, and Joe of Nocona, a sister, Juanita Barton of Corsicana, TX, brother, Wyman Leaton of Nocona, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

 R.B. McLaughlin, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012.

 R.B. was a Navy veteran and served our country for thrity years. He also worked in Wichita Falls, TX for CDI for twenty years.

 Graveside services were held Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Shady Grove Cemetery in Montague. Arrangements were made by Jerry Woods Funeral Home.

 R.B. is survived by his two sisters, Rita and Linda, and his brother Bobby, two daughters, Sandra and Jo, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

 Shirley Webb, 69, of Nocona Hills Community, TX, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012.

 Shirley was born on November 16, 1942, in Gainesville, TX, to L M and Lillian Henry Watson. She married Bill Webb and attended Nocona Hills Community Church. She worked as an escrow officer.

 Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Nocona Hills Community Church. Burial followed in Nocona Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by Scott-Morris Funeral Home.

 Shirley is survived by her husband Bill Webb of Nocona, daughters, Tandie Webb of Keller, TX, Brandi McNeff of Brock, TX, six grandchildren, and two and a half great grandchildren.
